You mix at least three types of articles on it, and we never know which is coming next:

a. Something you consider true and serious or at least possibly true, and serious

b. Something you consider true and serious so much so that you post as your rl self

c. Something blatantly untrue which you post as a joke.

The problem is, a lot of the things you consider true and serious also happen to be either not true, controversial, or impossible to determine the truth of. So when you post something that we know is not true, we can’t tell whether you are joking or not. After all, you have posted ludicrous opinions and fallacies before that you apparently regarded seriously.

(And, as an aside, the fact that we can never be sure who is posting as what reporter is another unnecessarily confounding factor.)

But even as a supposed joke, I don’t think it’s very funny to start a campaign – ingame and on this board – that Mr. President is a lecher. That may seem like a joke to you, but it really amounts to rumor-mongering and character assassination. It’s hostile.

This would perhaps not be the case if the entire web site were a parody. But the site lurches from paranoia to straight reporting to parody to unresearched and non-fact-checked assertions, and so on, back and forth. So if you are suddenly in a joking mood about Mr. President, don’t be surprised that it takes people a while to catch on, particularly since you just finished doing an excellent job of declaring that you have very seriously determined him to be a cheater who may well warp the long-time psychological development of younger players.

Any magazine or newspaper must have a consistent voice. If there are to be parodies, they need to be noted as such, unless the entire publication is a parody (such as Mad magazine).

And while I’m at it, let me add that I also take offense at your superior attitude toward your readers, which is apparent in the majority of your posts.

In this particular case, for instance, you are trying to blame the readers for not recognizing this as a joke, when the true failure is that of this newspaper for failing to achieve a consistent voice – as well as already being notorious for presenting various fallacies, rumors, and suppositions as fact.

Oh, and by the way, who are you to determine who Mr. President – or any player, for that matter – can and can’t associate in the game? Making such a big deal out of Mr. President being friendly and helpful to mafia players just as to other players is pretty ridiculous, particularly considering you yourself have ALWAYS hung out primarily with scammers, prostitutes, and the like.

And don’t tell me that is just because that is your role play (the journalist sniffing out corruption), and therefore it must be his also (and so he should actually shun all mafia players in the game). Not so.
