My computer(the Famous P.O.S. Brand) does not yet have the Graphics capability to allow me to join my toy in SL. She has been setting up our living arrangements there while i Price a new computer. My relationship with toy is still strong, and loving, but we keep it in other venues now, until i join her. I still like TSO, but it is a Grand potential, Unrealized, and unlikely to be so at any time soon. So, when i am Capable, I will be joining my Precious toy in SL. I will still play TSO as long as i have friends and Sim Family there, but this Mistress needs Challenges. Get off your Thumbs EA/Maxis, People are looking elsewhere. Maria. There've been reports of people playing with GeForce MX2 cards, backed by a fast CPU. From personal experience, I can say that it is possible to play SL using a dialup connection, as long as you use a high-speed connection the first time you log in. It's not fun, but it works. SL sets one free so to say :) yes the scripting is C++ and java based but its learning new things and actually using ones brain in a game is such a beautiful thing.... SL is very demanding, graphics-wise and accepts no substitutes (unlike TaleInTheDesert where I already got off the island and into the worlds even without the latest graphic cards -- it lets me take it slowly and gives me options to reduce graphic features. You have to know HTML to make the custom stuff for SL. It's not like the offline Sims where you can pop a jpeg of a Tibetan rug into Housemaker and walla, you can be in Tibet in your Sim house. I don't want to become an HTML monkey just to play a game. I have DSL and it’s never enough.
