The press picks up a very important signal. But, if they dig a bit further, they will see such business already started in 1996 (see activeworlds.com), although more based on business use than on gaming. What happens here is just the start of the next generation of internet and is only a small part of it. The current society and economy will be recreated in 3DVR in the next few years, trying to cut out the wrong parts and emphasize the good parts.
