Maria, we will revisit your remarks when, bowing to the pressure of selected SL whiners, the Lindens decide to boot the Goreans from the game, citing as their reason that the the EULA allows them to ban you guys "for any reason or for no reason".

If griefers are really the only ones with cause for worry, then why not put in the EULA that you can only be banned "for good reason" -- like persistent griefing -- rather than for any reason or no reason.

It occurs to me, That things like this only need concern those who feel it their right to Violate terms of service in the first place.
My toy and i live peacefully, as we choose to.
We freely associate with others both in, and outside out chosen lifestyle. We create things, attend events, and we Enjoy our relationships, both old and new But we Don't go out of our way to Interfere with others enjoyment of their second life.
And this clarification in the TOS is of no concern to us at all.

My consience is clear, so i don't worry. I have no need to.
If someone is very worried about these clauses, One is forced to ask "Why?"
Is it because they Know what they are doing is Wrong in the first place?
A little Felons Guilt perhaps?

If you don't make a career out of causing others grief, then there is no reason why you should worry either.
But if you DO like being the fly in the soup, You would have to be posessed of a Lot of nerve to plead for sympathy here, or anywhere.

Think on it a while.

Maria.

I think it simply needs a bit of clarification such as Robin Linden posted in the SL forums today..

"When an account has been terminated due to someone violating the Terms of Service or Community Standards the following happens:

- their account is closed, and they no longer have access to Second Life or their SL assets including L$ and land
- their land is put up for auction in US$. From the proceeds we deduct anything owed to LL, and a fee to cover time in conducting the resale. Anything remaining is sent, in US$, to the owner of the account.

Once an account has been terminated, the owner is no longer eligible to participate in the auctions, and an attempt to do so will just mean the auction is invalid and we'll re-auction the parcels. "

Well, welcome to hell everyone.

All those digital rights that LL was so quick to give us, well, they mean squat now. Furthermore, they even state that its still their property even if we get kicked out. So in theory, we have nearly no rights to our creations.

As for this thing about "we can kick you out for no reason". BOOO! That sucks ass. So if in game I say something about Philip (and I've beenb known to), and he gets annoyed, he can just kick me? Or even better yet, WWIIOLERS vs Lee Linden... Hmmm, there's been a rough history there. I'd recommend that if you get on their bad side for anything, including passing wind within 43 sims of them, ya better make sure you got a backup with an alt somewhere and have you clothes packed for a extended trip to RL...
