That was a *very* useful little exercise, that query on SLun. Of course when I wrote my query about Ulrika, I wasn’t “hypocritical” but well aware of the slew of criticism that would follow. But sometimes it takes contemplating how something will affect *one of their own* to get the FIC to articulate a policy. I’m glad Cristiano is now on the record as saying that if something isn’t on the first-life profile of an SL resident, then it isn’t fair game for discussion on the SL forums. Amen! I’m happy to fall on my sword just to get him on the record with that, well worth the trip! I’m also glad to have Cristiano establish that in his “rants and rumours” column, he’ll let people publish questions that some might think help spread rumours or slander people, and won’t remove them, even if they violate his own TOS, which bars libel and slander (even like the SL TOS which is more vague on this issue). SO one cancels out the other.

I feel in the matter of Ulrika, however, urgent national concerns override some considerations. If one very privileged resident, very visible on the forums and in the world, turns out to have a very obvious reason for those privileges and for that getting-away-with-murder on the forums, the public should know. I actually don’t care one whit about Ulrika and her private life, but if that can account for the outrageous favouritism and excesses she gets away with in SL, it might be worth examination. Since I”ve been called worse than hypocrite by Sluniverse.com I fear not.

I think asking a question on their rants page about a high-profile privileged persona is a far cry from their jackal-pack outing of my RL and other offenses as a malicious retaliation for my very valid critic of the FIC — which gets more valid by the day.
