Artemis: I agree, but I also understand the need to get a head start just in case. Every effort to cover your tail (so to speak) when it comes to US law is one to be taken. I am a US citizen adn do love living here. I would also love to be able to visit the PalmVegas. But I also suport honest business men NOT being hounded by the government. DIShonest ones *cough*oilcompanies*cough* are where the government needs to pay more attention, instead of turning a blind eye just to pad thier own wallets.

I'm not a lawyer, but I really don't think that just not allowing US citizens is going to make the casino not-liable to US law, since the servers all of this stuff is on is still in America, and therefore can be considered to be operating within the United states. I suppose a more accurate analogy, which...isn't even an analogy, is like running the online casino's servers in America for off-shore players. I wouldn't think particularly that the servers would be legal even though they weren't for US residents. After all, they tend to go after the owner, not the customer, in these sorts of things.

Either way, no official political movement that i've heard of has yet to be made on SL gambling, so it might be a bit early to be making changes and annoucements.

Dave, great comment! To set the record straight this has nothing to do with turning American's away from our casino's (whether in Second Life or on the internet). Instead, we have to comply with the laws in which United States government imposes to it's people and businesses that operate within the United States or provide products or services to American's. We would love to open our operations to everyone, however with the current laws we can not. We however are a successful international business that did not get to where we are today by doing thing's illegally. We place a lot of trust in the advice of our legal counsel and our decisions were based on the advice received.

Ickabod it's not really his choice not to allow Americans in just like it wasn't the fault of several successful British business that the American Government chose to out law their legitimate multi million dollar Internet businesses and send their share prices plummeting. Azno is doing what he has to until Linden Labs introduce the ability to screen a users location. If you have a problem with it try writing to your congressman rather than whining on here, it's nothing like someone opening in a theme park in the US and not letting Americans in at least use a decent metaphor preferably one where the US government outlaws Americans citizens from doing a certain past time.

With this story it should be clarified that the interview was done via IM (Instant Message) with myself being located within the casino. The article writer/reporter must have been inside or very close (within 2 meters) of the leased property operating as the sex college. This operation is leased out to a private operator whom operates it and it's operations are not connected in anyway (with the exception of the structure and property being owned by the PalmVegas group). We have to question the slant of this interview by including the sex education chat? However, perhaps if the reporter had been inside the island night club or catholic church (also privately leased operations) for that matter, perhaps we would have had the background chat reflect lyrics to a dance song or even catholic prayer or hymn's, (Father Simoni - my apologies to include the church in this reference however I feel the point needs to be made on this slant of this interview).

hmmm, we should run sex education chat throughout all our stories. Think of it as public service background noise.

I don't think it is Azno's decision not to allow U.S. residents in his casino... pardon, palace... or whatever will pass the advertisement ban. It is the FBI baby, the G-men are the guys who don't let U.S. citizens into theme park... paqlace... casino... whatever.....

What I am interested in is how to call this highschool thing with one redhead and one black girl on desks? Is it age-play... pardon, role-play?

I don't gamble in SL. Infact I don't gamble at all in RL. But for some reason I really dislike this Azno. It's like if someone from the UK decided to build a Theme Park in the United States, but only allowed Non-US Residence inside to play.

My opinion is, don't come to Second Life. Don't build a business in Second Life, if you are not willing to cater to everyone. This man has no problem with using the US-based servers for his land in Second Life, but discriminates against all Americans. Good one. I hope your business fails hard...
