I’m one of the many people who don’t play second life, and happened on this article by accident. Judging from the date of the post and succeeding comments, I also assume that this article is relatively dead. However, I still find the need to post this:

And before anyone starts calling me an insensitive prick, let me ask you something: Do half of you even know what Unit 731 was? While the holocaust was public knowledge, the atrocities of 731 were largely secret. Only during the last decade has information of 731 been brought public, and I doubt many textbooks detail it to the same extent as they do with concentration camps.

While I do agree that people who use the swastika to symbolize the views of racism should be shot, I also believe that people who view the swastika exclusively as a nazi symbol should consider educating themselves.

I guess the general point I’m trying to make is the reaction that was made to the swastika.

This statement:

speaks volumes to me, which is why I posted this comment. If we’re going to redefine the swastika as a symbol for Nazi Germany, we might as well redefine the Japanese Medical Society as a symbol for human experimentation.
