I think I may have mentioned this over at virtually blind and not here. One theory going around is that instead of the government applying pressure, it was the credit card companies that can’t process gambling payments that applied pressure. And of course, we don’t have any proof of that because information is so controlled.

I really don’t understand U.S. gambling laws. As pure speculations I would guess that someone from the government had a “chat” with someone at Linden Lab and the result was “full cooperation”.

I can’t find the link any more but I believe that Linden Lab was looking for a head mouse in charge of operations a few months ago. I wonder if anyone bit?

If the L$ ISN’T a currency, but a license, how can gambling with it have been gambling?
