<description>I had a terrible time trying to us an AMEX card when I first joined. Apparently, there&#039;s so much cc fraud in SL that AMEX flags every single transaction as possible fraud, and once this happens and a charge from LL fails, LL&#039;s web site will simply stop responding to further attempts. This forces you to call LL to have their block removed, then call AMEX so they can put a temporary (like 2 days max) approval for LL on the card. After those 2 days, if you make another charge without calling them back, you&#039;ll wind up in unbillable-hell again and have to repeat the process. And AMEX told me they have no capability in their system to mark LL as safe/ok, so there&#039;s no way around this Mother-May-I dance every time. Screw that.

It all went away when I switched to Paypal, which can itself charge the AMEX card just fine :D

<description>Yeah those prepaid cards suck. Only way I&#039;ve gotten them to work was to do it over the pone. Computers just hate them for some reason.

<description>Why are you bothering to even give LL your money

You&#039;ll soon find that a premium membership is no different than basic other than you can buy land. You&#039;ll get treated the same and what&#039;s worse is someone with a basic account can get you permabanned. save your money, go buy real games.

		<description>Take My Advice,

If ur having issues getting &quot;officially&quot; linkedin to 2nd Life via money channels then it&#039;s a sign from God! Go spend ur real money on RL. 2nd Strife is a waste, you&#039;ll meet all kinds of freaks and service is poorly executed not to mention the plethora of technical issues they can&#039;t seem to overcome.

Actually spend ur money on seeking some serious life counsel, head shrink or checking urself into the nearest sanitarium.
You need it!

<description>Actually, the Risk API would not apply to the SL Exchange for the very simple reason that they acquire their lindens legitimately. As quoted from the API,

If Linden Lab, in its sole discretion, determines that a Second Life user has purchased Linden Dollars for real currency through any means other than LindeX, AND that the seller of such Linden Dollars acquired such Linden Dollars through fraudulent means, or any other means in violation of the Terms of Service, then Linden Lab will consider the buying user a complicit party in the fraud or violation.

The policy is not to punish third-party linden sales, but to deal with potential counterfeiting. The SL Exchange is one of a few sites that has proven itself solid and legitimate, so there would be low risk involved.

Of course, Sayden does have a point that this work around would cause the loss of a couple of benefits, primarily having payment info on file, but this is sadly the standard with workarounds. It&#039;s a last resort measure that would be better than nothing, but worse than the desired outcome.

<description>I encountered the same problem when switching from one credit card to another. Despite lengthy discussions with LL billing support and the CC provider the problem was never resolved. Even created a JIRA entry which of course was closed without comment months later.

It appears that Second Life billing works about as well as everything else connected with Linden Lab.

The only real solution is to stop supporting such an unprofessional company.
