I run the largest mixed martial arts league in SL (almost 600 members) called RAGE Fighting Championships. It is modeled after RL leagues such as Pride, K1, UFC, and Shooto. The fight system we use is called Combat Evolution by Abranimations. It includes many different martial arts styles including kung fu, boxing, muay thai, street fighting, and capoeira. Our league is about competition, and sport. RP takes a backseat at RAGE because the fight system operates the same as any weapon system does, with attacks causing damage to an avatar until their health is at 0. My league has 5 divisions, and has champions in each division that defend their titles against challengers. The regional divisions are split into mens and womens, as well as by geography (North America, and Europe so far), and the world division is open to all genders. We have a complex tournament structure that is used to determine who challenges for the various titles, and winners are awarded cash prizes depending on the title. I invite you to come check us out, and see that there is a different kind of fight league in Second Life. One that is both competitive and entertaining to participate in, as well as to watch.
