5000 sims gone from the grid, thats like a 20% contraction in the SL economy due to one policy of Linden Lab. Not content to merely kill all economic growth, they are intent upon destroying the economy of their user base.

Dear National Affairs Desk Editor: Am I missing something or are the Second Life Demographic stats that used to be available also missing? The ones that showed for a month-at-a-glance the total registered users, active registered users, from what countries, premium vs. basic accounts, age bands, gender splits, etc. These were downloadable as a spreadsheet or comma file.

I’m curious as to how many folks were there? I’m a lousy journalist in that I never go to these in-world chat-fests but I’m glad some folks do! My imagining is that the majority of people there are “regulars” like Mitch and James and SL blogger-types, but that Joe and Josephine Sixpack don’t attend, nor does the governor of Alaska because it’s cold there – allegedly.
