one thing that i have never understood as long as i have been talking/hearing about second life….is why are people so utterly offended by its existence. its not for everyone, i get that part…just like being a brain surgeon isn’t for everyone….but i suppose that the hate shown for this one game/virtual reality extends into all situations in life..people constantly transferring their social expectations on all others…even though we all come from different place and experiences…and personally its so disappointing to see the amount of intolerance and ignorance coming from all different angles.

if there is something you want to do in your life, do it…you don’t have to explain yourself to anyone on this planet

a good book to read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius…funny how something so old can apply so much to modern life

Oh jeez louise… what is the deal with all this existential angst over whether someone spends part of their free time in SL or elsewhere? I don’t get these busybodies who just can’t stand that someone else is enjoying themselves being an SL model or builder or helper or whatever. If you don’t want to play SL, don’t play it. It’s really pretty simple.

Beautifully Sinister has built herself a pretty avatar, and she likes to help people in-world. Okay, great for her and more power to her. She’s raised money in SL for charity, even… which is probably a lot more self-giving than most people in SL tend to be, myself included. And her activities are bad, how? Is it also bad that millions of other people play games on computers, or chatter with friends on Facebook/Twitter/next-new-thing on computers, or write code on computers, or watch TV on computers? Is it the computers the busybodies hate? Are they aware they’re using a computer to complain about people using computers?

I can’t stand Gor either, so I don’t visit Gorean sims. Problem solved, as far as I’m concerned.

Dudes, why are you all dousing Sinister with the Haterade tonight? Guess it irks all the naysayers that they can’t control you and your mind like a nice little puppet. You’re a cool lady, Sinister. No one can take that away from you–in RL or SL (or on comment sections like this). So keep doing what you’re doing. You got my vote.

Shame on you Beautifully Sinister, making less than minimum wage with something you are addicted to doing. Don’t you realize you’re wasting your life? Why don’t you do fashion and modeling in real life huh?! I’m sure experience in moving prims and textures in a 3D world will transfer to real world fashion and modeling experience, they’re completely DIFFERENT and the former requires some actual education, dedication and skill. LMAO

Learning how not to be pathetic behind the keyboard is a full time job.

Despite many of the above comments, it IS possible to make a RL living with SL profits .. or at least supplement your RL income with the SL money. I’ve paid for my RL vacations the past three years (two of them out of the country) with SL profits,and I”m not even in that top tier of people who make over $1000 US a month in SL. There are many many of us making between $100 and $1000 (US) a month in SL, free and clear.
So, go ahead and make fun of the clothing designers, animation creators, builders, etc .. they are laughing at you, all the way to the bank.
