Goddess, sometimes I wonder if any of the regulars here are capable of taking words in a row at face value. As a result of reading vile motives and hidden agendas into the words of one another, you have managed to completely fail to have a discussion. It’s a shame, as it’s a decent article about an important issue – and you-all have just proven to the authoritarian sorts that the community is utterly incapable of civil behaviour, and desperately in need of being jackbooted into compliance.

…goodness, I’m having fantasies of spreading an indiscriminate cloud of pepper spray myself.

Fortunately, there are places where civility occurs more often than not. So I shall go there… failing to mention where that might be. :}

lol oh Tux, I know you are not that dense, but I will explain it again, and this time I will type more slowly. Pay attention now: You have explained to us all how you are an adult who makes wraps his identity, satisfaction, and self worth into activities that explicitly interrupt the gameplay and social lives of other adults who are minding their own business, and then justifies this behavior by saying variously that “I can get away with it”, “it is funny to me”, “a linden laughed at it once with me”, “there are no universally enforceable rules or laws against it” etc.

To me, this is the perspective of either an emotionally retarded adult or a nine-year old child. So the question is, given your ideas about manners and appropriate behaviors, how do you, as a parent, explain this all to your children? Now go ahead, call me a ped0phile again if it makes you feel better. Or else, maybe you could tell me I am off my medications, or that I am a fat basement dweller, or something equally creative.
