Reuters SL newswire operation achieves LL levels of reliability

no in-world Reuters news hud for you – here’s why
Here at the Herald, we depend on the mojo wire to alert us to breaking news – but the office staff noticed a curious silence when they checked Reuters Second Life newsfeed this morning. We waited – and waited – and waited – then got the message. It is now 11:00 am PDT, and from what we can determine, Reuters RSS newswire has been down for over 5 hours now. Good news though – it is unlikely that a 5 hour downtime is a concern to metaverse residents – they see this at least every two weeks when Linden Lab upgrades the betaverse. We do wonder why it is only the Second Life part of Reuters that seems to be affected – but no worries. Say, Adam Reuters? If there is anything super urgent the Herald is more than happy to help out. Let us know, ok? Good luck with the servers.
UPDATE: 9 hours after Reuter’s Second Life newsfeed went dark, it came back to life. Adam? You might want to take down the note to users message now – don’t keep beating yourself up over this, OK?

tsk tsk tsk, they never learn you can’t top the Mojo Wire Service. Kidz, let this be a lesson to you, there is no substitute for Mojo.

I’m not getting this since the regular Reuters wire itself isn’t down and is working fine — are they tied to the Lindens in some way that this site is down?

Mebbye the lack of news from wars (what Roto-Reuters is more known for) made it crash.
