Linden Lab Executive Exodus Continues
by Pixeleen Mistral on 01/11/10 at 12:01 pm
Another one bites the dust
The ultra slimfast human resources cull continues at Linden Lab with the sudden – and unexplained – departure of Brian Michon, the Lab’s Vice President of Core Development. The hiring of Mr. Michon was celebrated with a breathless press release from the Lab in late January 2009 with now departed CEO Mark Kingdon quoted as saying "Brian has decades of experience in designing highly available, mission-critical software services for some of the largest corporations in the world".
Times have changed since 2009, and high availability mission critical software may no longer be within Linden Lab’s means. Michon’s departure leaves an anemic executive team in his wake – the Lab currently has no CEO and lists only 4 executives on the management team.
With player confidence in Second Life at low ebb, yet another executive suite departure coming hard on the heels of Philip Rosedale’s flight from the acting CEO position will only fuel rumors that the Lab is up for sale, desperate to cut costs, or both.
Meanwhile, expect Michon to land on his feet. As the 2009 press release pointed out, "Michon brings over twenty years of experience in technical engineering and leadership to head up the core engineering team at Linden Lab. Before joining the team, Michon was VP of Engineering at Intuit leading software development of web service and platforms powering both hosted and desktop software including Quickbooks™, TurboTax™ and Quicken™. Prior to Intuit, he was co-founder and VP of Apps.com – which was acquired by Intuit in 2000 – where he led the design and development of an online directory of business applications. Previously, he was Director of Engineering at the web marketing system integrator Think New Ideas and an engineering leader in Oracle’s Server Technologies group. He received his MS in Computer Science from Stanford and his BSCS from MIT."

LOL as I have said many times Linden Lab is nothing more than a bunch of retards who need to actually do something to fix this grid.
Lindens wont learn because they are Skills Hak’s Loli Pedo Bears they do what he needs best.
SL is still being torn apart by Copybotters, and Skills Hak, Zfire Xue, and other creators using illegal data mining systms, Storing information without consent on their servers to automatically detect residents region wide, even off their parcels, and ban them constantly sending green messages to the resident which is harassment, etc. LL needs to remove these people from Second Life who are violating the SL TOS constantly, Impeding peoples movement, and refusing to respond to peoples Im’s Notecards, or claims. While it is not against the TOS to ban a person, or use a simple ban tool, using tools to illegally view directory of residents, store IP information, or any other stuff without consent being sent from a users pc is illegal. As I have said Many residents do not want to even pay for Second Life, or even pay for creators anymore. I have seen like a 30-40% Increase in people downloading Copybotted content, and uploading it for personal use which is not detectable unless its an object, no one wants to buy content anymore because quite a few stores are using his illegal system, and they don’t want to get scanned by the systems etc. I also have not given consent for him to store any data of mine in his system without my consent, and he has clearly refused to respond, or remove the info. His system is also a slandering system, and a dictatorship, as his group, and friends have total control over it, they can add anyone say they are a content thief, and ban a user from hundreds of sims using any of these systems, and I think LL needs to do something about it, because he is clearly tricking creators into thinking their systems still work to buy it, and he takes control of their ban lists remotely by slandering people this user is a copybotter, bans them from way more than their own sims, and was a really great idea for Control over our grid as a Nazi Dictatorship. Although he can’t detect new accounts of mine, and has banned my only main account which has thousands of USD in non transferable items from hundreds of sims with false claims, which are harassment, but LL does nothing.
I don’t think anyone in their right minds wants to play Second Life today until Linden Lab bans their sorry asses, removes their systems, and adds protection to our clients for future customers so these exploits can no longer work.
But Again look at this.
Check Skills Hak’s picks, he violates our TOS, and he has good friends with Linden Lab employee because he has pricks listed in his profiles which you cant get to normally, he likes to show them off to everyone of how the hell he can do whatever he wants and get away with it.
Skills, and Zfire, along with other creators using Devices like this need actions taken against them because they are killing SL along with the Copybot, and torrent sites made because of his systems. Also like I have said over 50% OF copybotted items are no longer copybotted on peoples sims, they are legit customers who shop peoples stores, then go to a copybot supporting region, clone their avatar, and stick it on the internet for download, where a copybotter can login to SL import it in a Copybot support region, then keep it for themselves only, and nothing can be reported or done really. All they have to do after that is log out clear cache 100% Manually login with legit viewer, can they risk 100% no detection.
I wonder when LL is going to Learn because seriously Skills Hak has caused a lot of my friends as creators to Loose profits because of him and his ban system how it has affected our grid as a community is not good.

This used to be my playground [used to be]
This used to be my childhood dream
This used to be the place I ran to
Whenever I was in need
Of a friend
Why did it have to end
And why do they always say
Don’t look back
Keep your head held high
Don’t ask them why
Because life is short
And before you know
You’re feeling old
And your heart is breaking
Don’t hold on to the past
Well that’s too much to ask
(Long and movie versions only:)
(chorus)
Live and learn
Well the years they flew
And we never knew
We were foolish then
We would never tire
And that little fire
Is still alive in me
It will never go away
Can’t say goodbye to yesterday [can't say goodbye]
(chorus)
No regrets
But I wish that you
Were here with me
Well then there’s hope yet
I can see your face
In our secret place
You’re not just a memory
Say goodbye to yesterday [the dream]
Those are words I’ll never say [I'll never say]
This used to be my playground [used to be]
This used to be our pride and joy
This used to be the place we ran to
That no one in the world could dare destroy
(Short and movie versions only:)
This used to be our playground [used to be]
This used to be our childhood dream
This used to be the place we ran to
I wish you were standing here with me
(Movie version only:)
This used to be our playground [used to be]
This used to be our great escape
This used to be the place we ran to
This used to be our secret hiding place
This used to be our playground [used to be]
This used to be the place we ran to
The best things in life are always free
Wishing you were here with me

Perhaps Mr. Michon completed the job he was hired for and is simply moving on to his next project?
As far as selling Second Life, you apparently missed the news from last month. Microsoft purchased LL some time ago.

You know someone has just a little too much “wood” for Skils Hak.
Is this really important anymore? Skils Hak (the avatar) is not long for the world neither is any other SL avatar. READ MY LIPS. Rome is burning SL is doomed and some of us are still worrying about what color jello they are going to eat tonight. Please for the sake of my sanity enough with Skils Hak. None of us care…. except Hitler.

They used to tell me I was building a dream
And so I followed the mob
Stacking up servers, renting out sims
I was always there, right on the job
They used to tell me I was building a dream
Riches and IPOs in the hole
Now why should I be standing in line
Just waiting for my monthly dole?
Once I built a big grid, I made it run
When it needed duct tape and mendin’
Once I built a big grid, now it’s tits-up
Brother, can you spare a Linden?
Once I built a tower up to the sun
Prim and sculpties were bendin’
Once I built a tower, now it’s done
Brother, can you spare a Linden?

Possibly like Phillip Linden did when he stepped out.

Rumor has it… Microsoft looking to buy SL
Dr Fell
Nov 20th, 2010
Laughs i hope someone buys the bastards out. Even if it means removing all the sex stuff in Second Life
i would not mind that if it ment a more stable secure …freindly and crash free Second Life n the end.
Microsoft should buy it out, say what you will they already have experence with Xbox Live and networking so i would assume they would have more resources to be able to make Second Life what it shoudl be by providing more stable servers and a better way to control security
Linden Labs have become a joke. and the fact that Second Life is as popular as it is now…is just amazing i would have thought it would have crashed a long time ago.
I hate to say it but i thikn the best thing would be if Second Life just died. besides most of the people in it are total bullcrap i have been a member since 2005 and yet to make any real long lasting deep connections because everyone is either too busy or never on or are self centered.
If the lag and loading would get better and not crash so much then maybe it might be worth it too but you know im starting to think the more i am in Second Life that unless someone takes it over and makes major changes for the bettter
(they might just need to axe the whole adult content stuff, the kids adoption crap the escorting ) and then second life might be a better place
(after making half of the people leave hah).
Lets face it bring illicit sex into a game and you are going to have it filled with people who are not worth two cents.
