Interview with SL Woodbury University’s new Administrator Madelena Rossini

Woodbury University is reappearing in Second Life. Madelena Rossini is the new administrator listed on the Woodbury group. Ms. Rossini was a SL resident who was introduced to members of the Woodbury faculty through SL. She recently started teaching classes at the California school and took some time to talk with me early one morning.
Madelena Rossini: I want to start emphasizing the positive work that is being done by Woodbury in SL with regards to education. I know that may sound boring to some people but really it isn’t. It is about each person going on fantastic journeys of self-discovery and learning. It is also about people discovering that they can do more and be more than they thought possible. We focus on the people who have been marginalized by society.
Woodbury University in real life recruits in places like Compton in LA. These are places people want to forget. Students are often the first in their family to get a college education. "
When asked about the recent uproar with Edward Clift’s land purchase and seizure, she had this to say:
"He did not know it was next to Prokofy Neva. He knew it was prime real estate and close to the Linden Lab headquarters. That is what motivated him to buy it. He is currently appealing the ban and we do not anticipate there being a problem once it is proven that he was and is in control of his own account.’ "Professor Clift received no e-mail notifying him of a ban which leads us to assume that his account has been suspended rather than banned. This only happens when there is suspicion that an account has been compromised. That is what has lead us to arrive at the conclusion we have come to."
Ms. Rossini claims authorship of the metaversemuse blog which lists Susanna Hendy as the author of the blog posts. Susanna Hendy is a recently hired instructor for the purpose of conducting Second Life based learning at Woodbury University according to the VP of Academic Affairs, David Rosen.
Mr. Rosen confirms that Woodbury remains interested in using Second Life as a platform for learning. In a previously published e-mail at Second Thoughts, Mr. Rosen was quoted as saying that there is no authorized representative of Woodbury in SL, even though the Woodbury students are still bound by the Woodbury Student Code of Conduct.

1. Please provide Madelena Rossini’s real-life name by having her tell it, not by supposing who she might be. There is no professor listed on the website of Woodbury University with that title. If she is indeed a professor at Woodbury University in the Communications Department doing an educational project in SL, she should have no qualms about revealing her real-life name and explaining who she is.
2. Please have Ms. Rossini respond to the very grave problem posed by the fact that the communication sent to me by Dr. Rosen of her department indicates that no one is authorized to buy or rent land in SL or represent Woodbury University. Was this policy changed within 24 hours? How does the Herald and Ms. Rossini square these very troublesome contradictions between the head of the department and this new professor?
This claim, “Susanna Hendy is a recently hired instructor for the purpose of conducting Second Life based learning at Woodbury University according to the VP of Academic Affairs, David Rosen” — simply contradicts what Dr. Rosen himself said directly to me in an email which I made public on my blog.
3. One of the very hackneyed memes of this entire farce is that the PNs just “sneaked in”. We have ample documentation from the Herald’s own considerable reporting and comments on this that they were *invited in* because the person doing the inviting *was one of them*. Duh! MC Fizgig himself sports a profile with a 1970s black man in an outsized Afro — the trademark PN insignia. How to account for that, if these PNs just “sneaked in”?
4. The land in Furness is something like 2000 meters from any Linden village — it’s dozens of sims away. It is not at all in any reasonable concept near any Linden offices. Furthermore, it isn’t prime real estate, which would be land on newer class-five sims. This is older mainland on the roadside, and it was heavily overpriced. An equivalent could have been found even on old mainland and even closer to the Lindens, if that was an objective (rolls eyes) for far less cost.
5. And of course it was deliberately put in next to me — we can all see that — it’s an area that this little group of griefers constantly trespassed in, constantly griefed in, and were very familiar with, so that’s how they spotted the land for sale.
6. Again, we need to hear from Edward Clift’s and “Madelena Rossini’s” *superiors* and the people in the *oversight board* about the true intentions of Woodbury University in SL, because clearly these two are in on the conspiracy,lying left and right, in the most obvious and stupid way, with fake memes like Clift not knowing this land was next to me.

Also, I think students overall of the politically-correct notions and Marxian nostrums of warmed-over social polices of the 1970s would do well to study this extraordinary statement by Ms. Rossini:

So, what she’s saying, essentially, is that minority students tend to be griefers. If you serve the downtrodden in your educational mission, then you will get the poor from ghettos and they are criminals — that’s really what she’s saying, without a hint of awareness of how prejudicial *that* stounds.
She’s also essentially saying that the people in the PNs who are racists who “sneaked into” the Woodbury group in SL are poor blacks, marginalized by society.
But…they’re white kids. With computers, DSL lines, and the technical sophistication to keep making alts and hide their tracks, and also lots of paid-for disposable time on their hands. Huh? We have no proof, in fact, that the people in the Woodbury University group in SL are even *in* Burban, California. Or from any kind of disadvantaged past.
I call bullshit on this one. The little people are the scores of human beings in Second Life who are nobodies, not fancy California educators and groovy digital arts departments in edgy universities, but people working for a living in SL who have been griefed by these “marginals”.
Rossini is playing the exact same manipulative game as Edward Clift, which doesn’t surprise me coming from the typical Marxist methods that these people espouse in their writings.
The idea is to set up a FALSE paradigm:
o Woodbury University serves minorities and is inclusive of everybody
o Second Life is a gated white Wonderbread community that isn’t inclusive
o Woodbury University has creative people because it’s open to everybody
o Linden Lab is conservative and closes its doors to some people; it has a “dress code” or even a colour bar
o If LL discriminates against Woodbury, it’s discriminating against minorities
o LL must have done something to harm minority students and the disadvantaged if it seized Woodbury’s land
All of this is very familiar stuff — it’s merely the modern-day incarnation of the Mao-Maoing of the Flak-Catchers, that’s all, it’s like the Black Panthers going on the cocktail circuit in NYC, in a way, except…Edward Clift is white and so are these “Patriotic Nigras”.
It’s just manipulative horseshit, and completely conceals the real story:
o These people are griefers who use the racist symbols to shock and then plead fake minority status that they’ve even gotten these professors to rant about
o LL did the right thing seizing land from criminals who constant caused denial-of-service attacks
o The issues in these stories aren’t about creativity vs. conservatism, white versus black, majorities in power against minorities in victim status. The issues are more mundane: it’s about ordinary vandalism and criminality by anonymous irresponsible people who have simply found a very good way to cover their tracks by tripping the guilt-wire in whites and liberal California software companies.

The name has no footprint in Google, except for Second Life’s website, where she is listed as a metaversal consultant.
Her company has no Google presence except on the SL website.
Sounds like a hoax to me.

This interview seems to have taken place BEFORE the Clift’s Fizgig account was unbanned. We thought LL believed the account was either compromised or an alt because no email was sent – It was only the day before, infact, Michael Linden had told me that the only circumstances under which no notification of a ban/suspension would be sent was if it was an alt account or a compromised account. That is what lead us to this belief.
We are now told it was because LL decided he needed to a premium account holder.
There has been no explanation as to why no email was sent.
Sometimes, Prok, the explantion is right infront of you.

I’ll be publishing what I just got from RL Woodbury on my blog shortly, but it’s been made absolutely clear that Clift is not representing Woodbury, and his purchase of the land is not representing Woodbury, and is done so in his private capacity.
There is no confirmation that Rossini represents anything.
The website looks pretty up to date with other stuff, and I find it hard to believe that there was no one around at a digital arts and communications department, of all things, to update a site with a new instructor.
BTW, the group Woodbury is now gone from the group list, interestingly enough.
So…I think Mr. Busybody and Mr. Pix needs to turn their laser-like stares ferreting out alleged hook-ups with Linden on to…Woodbury itself. Alyx, um, you’re on a first-name basis with Michael Linden, now, are you, and enjoy direct back-and-forth communications with him on accounts that are *not* yours? The Lindens violate protocol and inform you of the disciplinary actions about other people? Gives you detailed information about their own disciplinary actions about…even yourself? That can’t be. Or, rather, sure, coming from Michael, it can be, but you’re confirming what has been a long-time problem with Michael, which is that he is just too close to the griefers, and has lost all perspective. He should be furloughed.

In response to the David Rosen’s e-mail that was featured in Second Thoughts, I was always bothered by the notion that if Woodbury University had nothing to do with Second Life, then why were their students bound by their Code of Conduct? So I e-mailed Dr. Rosen with my question on the Code of Conduct and about Susanna Hendy. Dr. Rosen stated that Woodbury is planning on re-entering SL and that Hendy is an instructor at their campus. I am not a believer in reprinting e-mails and chat logs, so I do not, unless truly necessary.
The fact that Google did not turn up Hendy’s blog is interesting.
As more facts become available, the more they will be reported.
And people, leave out Prok’s RL details. If you can’t attack his ideas, then what’s the point of your attack?
And I just logged out of SL because I saw Tizzers Foxchase’s profile under search. That can’t be right….

I can attest that Maddy is Susanna Hendy. As many know she once worked for me. We have met in real life twice: once at the LL recruiting party in Boston in June, and the second time at SLCC in August in Chicago. She was my VP of PR for several months this past summer, and while she left BNT for personal reasons, we have remained strong friends.
She is one of the most credible, honest, trustworthy people I know, and I was so happy to hear she had changed careers to enter academia, and particularly at a school like Woodbury, where she could continue to help the less fortunate achieve their dreams and prayers, and to do so through Second Life. Her mission at WU is exactly the sort of thing that Philip Rosedale and Mitch Kapor have been promoting with Global Kids, and we at BNT will do our best to help WU fulfill that mission.
Prokofy came to know Woodbury only because I informed her of their existence, and at the time, the PN infestation there. Yes, Tizzers thought of herself as a PN at that time, but did not understand or appreciate the sociopathic plague that they were upon others. Tizzers has certainly grown up quite a bit in the months since that time, learned the truth about the PN and our SL culture, and has assisted us in dealing with the PN. It is evident that Prokofy has not grown or become more educated.
I myself am somewhat, though not entirely sorry for siccing Prok on WU. Playing to Proks sad delusions of leninist conspiracies and persecution complexes was not fair or right of me, I can only say that given LL’s complete lack of action against griefing at the time, I used the tools at hand. Prok certainly fits the definition of a blunt instrument. She is, unfortunately, incapable of being turned off unless we can somehow convince her that the leninist conspiracy has been vanquished. I wish “shut up” worked with someone like her. Does anybody know what made her leave The Sims Online to come to SL?

I remember Madelena Rossini at SLCC, she came up to me with Maldavius Figtree and wanted me to arrange a meeting with me, to tell me of their beef against Intlibber. I declined. I could see they were involved in some sort of manipulative game. Rossini was obviously still affiliated with BNT and Intblubber — as we can see.
Amazing that the Ancapistanis were able to infiltrate one of their red/brown ideologues into Woodbury, without any credentials to speak of whatsoever. Amazing.

You know, from looking through this article’s comments section I noticed that a lot of people seem to put more thought into this griefer bullshit that many of the griefers themselves!
You can ask a talking head like Prock or IntLibber what happened and what it means and they’ll go on and on about all types of retarded shit from left field. But when you ask someone actually involved in the situation and they can sum it up in like 3 sentences.
A wise person once said that if you can’t explain something briefly and in simple terms then you don’t understand the subject yet.

Prok if you are going to attempt to insult a RL school, you should at least attempt to get your facts straight. Woodbury is in fact a minority school. It’s a commuter school which means 80% of students live off campus, which means that most of the students come from SoCal. The majority of these students are first generation students. If you were to get your lazy butt off of the computer one day and just go to the Woodbury Campus, you would see that half of the population are minorities, not “overgrown middle-aged white blubbers” as you seem to think.
Also, Woodbury doesn’t have a digital arts program. They have a school of Media, Culture, and Design, but they don’t even have a class that teaches internet websites. It’s entirely possible that they haven’t updated the staff list, whether you believe it or not. If you were even to look at the faculty page new faculty is only added once or twice a year, and even then it’s only a few members at a time.
So quit thinking that everyone’s out to get you and take some time to research. I’m sure if you took the time to email Rosen again he would tell you what has been going on and whether or not a “Susanna Hendy” works at Woody.

Just from past experience. I would proceed with caution. Having experienced unspeakable narcissistic behavior pertaining to this person Madelena Rossini who’s rl name was associated to that rl name. I dont think they pass out old used names I think at LL. So its the same person I would presume.
Sorry but I have a conscious. And I dont forget. May forgive under the circumstances. I do believe people can redeem themselves..
but then…certain individuals will never break thier behavior patterns. Its a known fact. What she did was cruel and to me demonstrated poor character and heartless and well from only knowing her abit she fits unfortuantly into a behavioral pattern possibly. They will munipulate and mislead you for thier own benifit not giving it a thought as to how it will affect you. They can be really good with convining you and munipulating you into beleiving that what they beleive is absolute.
These people can be very inteligent and I believe Maddy is a smart young woman just has made some poor choices not unlike anyone else. She is human.. May have a dual personality… a caring one (hope its genuine) and a very dark side.
But I say proceed with caution still…hope all her intentions are well thought out and not for only self interest. I cant jump to conclusions about the school issue because I havent been following but ..Maddy is a bright young woman not exempt from faults….was interested in the school and it appears she followed thru with her dream..hope its a good dream. Everyone deserves a second chance lol even in second life …proceed with caution lol

They appear to be white kids, but then, we can’t be sure. Hazim Gazov was a white kid — it’s my operating theory that he *is* Tizzers although he once purported to have her on the phone to hear me at SLCC (rolls eyes). What a pathetic stalker.
Edward Clift is also a white boy.
Dr. Rosen merely confirmed that Hendy was hired as an instructor. Not *professor* but *instructor*. Furthermore, he didn’t confirm that she is authorized to represent Woodbury in SL. What he said was that they were reviewing the presence in SL, that they hoped to still use SL for learning, and that they hired this instructor. That didn’t contradict his previous remark, which was that no one was authorized to rent or buy land on behalf of Woodbury.
Please forgive me while I clutch my sides at laugh at someone making the distinction between “digital arts” and “media and culture”.
BTW, it’s not about “Woodbury out to get me.” I could care less about Woodbury; Woodbury is not in some kind of “battle” with me. I reported on the hoax last April; I continue to report on the hoax. It’s important to expose malicious hoaxes like that for the public good, I think.

If it wasn’t “Woodbury out to get me” then you wouldn’t be sitting in your land taking pictures any time someone shows up at that land. You haven’t actually been “reporting” on anything so much as you’ve been posting pictures with a play-by-play commentary with lame-duck insults.
The fact you’ve taken the time to contact Woody U IRL to find out details on things that would affect you if you could mind your fucking business betrays your obsession with them. I would say “unhealthy” but based on the picture you put up that’s the least of your health worries!
This whole thing is hilarious to me and probably many others. I picture you in an old ass house sitting on your porch, in your backyard or by the window with your blinds half drawn, binoculars in hand watching everything that happens at the frat house next door and writing it down. Sometimes you shout through a bullhorn while they’re sleeping.
You report certain happenings to the police from time to time but they patronize you and pretend to be interested so they can leave and laugh at you in the squad car. They can’t take your calls seriously most of the time because of how often you cry wolf and obsess over stupid shit.
You know that’s what they’re doing so you start printing a “newsletter” and pass it out to your uninterested neighbors. There are a couple other old, grumpy people that live in your neighborhood that encourage your behavior but they’re just miserable and decaying, too, and like the company.

Um, I failed to see that I got PWNED (rolls eyes) by someone impersonating, or embodying a collective corporate griefer account, or whatever it is that happened. It’s not material, because one of the trademark elements of the PNs is to lie, use alternate accounts, distract, confuse, etc.
The facts remain that a dweeby little white kid whose main problem was obvious was taking credit for griefing, and whistling to other griefers in malicious glee on his cell phone. He stalked me around SLCC and tried to take my picture, and the only thing that likely got him to stop was the realization that unlike SL, I could first get the hotel security or even call the real police if he kept that up.
Another failed expedition by people with no inner being and no lives, first or second.
