It Was Bound to Happen: SL Escort Rating Service Opens

by Urizenus Sklar on 03/02/06 at 11:44 pm

I tried in vain to come up with a picture to illustrate this one, but failed utterly. We all know about the virtual escort services in second life, but perhaps some of you wondered: is this honey’s cyber skills *really* worth 1,000 Lindens? I mean, maybe she is only worth 800! Into this information gap has stepped Second Life Escort Ratings, a blog that rates the cyberbrothels and their escorts. The ratings only address avatar performance (with snipets of chat) but give no indication as to whether your avi might not be… oh, I dunno… a 340 pound trucker taking advantage of the cheap wifi access at the Flying J Truckstops. I also wonder if this might not pull the infamous TSO madame Evangeline out of retirement, so that she might reclaim her title as the Queen of Alphaville — if not the metaverse itself. As Kelly Bundie once said, “the mind wobbles.”

Kissing and Telling in Second Life

The virtual world of Second Life, like the real world, has an active and profitable sex trade. One enterprising virtualworld resident isnt just kissinghes telling, too. Tommy Thompson has established a web site for the purpos…

Great, now I know what nasty hoes to stay away from. You know, the fat 45 yr old men irl who play women on SL to get their rocks off after their Viagra kicks in.

As a male who works as a female sex worker, I’m slightly offended. What makes you think a man as a woman can’t provide excellent female companionship and sexual services? I’ve played the female role in many situations on-line and in real life and I’ve satisfied many men. Why shouldn’t I be able to be compensated, in a legal online capacity, for that? Is there a difference between a male phone sex operator with a feminine sounding voice being paid for his talents in getting a guy off as a woman?

I’m sorry but as a woman, a real women, nothing offends/turns me off more than men pretending to be women on secondlife, it’s so horrible and fake, it spreads mass distrust amongst the real women, every female avatar I see I am suspicious of being some sad guy who can’t accept himself or feels the only way he can fulfill his girl on girl fantasies/get sex is by pretending to be a woman on a video game.
Funny thing is they usually only end up with other men pretending to be women.
Although you can usually always tell as it’s some large unrelastic tanned large breasted creature, who seems to have the endless lust drive and kinks that only a male could think up ;p
The only time I can accept it is when the guy is honest enough to admit it in his profile, at least then he’s not starting off a friendship on one massive lie.

I have sooooooo much respect for those few men that actually play male avatars, I guess it’s ok really, it makes men in secondlife who actually play men more attractive by being exotic and rare.

No-one on Second Life really is what their avatar portrays to be, furries arent really animals IRL, PN arent really black men IRL, that muscular guy with the five o clock shadow, very likely he’s not as muscular as his avatar makes you believe, and that hot girl with the D-cup and thin waist, even if really female IRL, probably doesnt have her avatar’s figure.

All fairly obvious, and everyone just accepts it without a second thought. Even the fact that there are many men on Second Life who are in fact women IRL. Never hear any complaints about that. But, every girl is suspect of being a guy in RL, and that seems to be one of the biggest sins for people out there.

Why is it sooo very important that a girl is really a girl behind the keyboard, while other little ‘lies’ portrayed by avatars isnt mentioned or cared for at all? My guess, it’s the same last century fear that also makes guys say things like “Hey, I have no prolem with gays, but be careful around that and that guy, dont bend over if he’s standing near!”

Gender and sex are definately not the same, something people still get confused about. Sex is what’s between your legs, gender is what’s between your ears. This is perfectly demonstrated by the number of sexchange operations done these days, sometimes nature just mixes things up a little. It happens, no-ones fault and thankfully we can correct it these days. If anyone feels more comfortable in an avatar that’s a different sex then their own, because it suits their gender better, so what? Why do you care, unless you’re planning on meeting them RL, and have hot sex with them? I can imagine that it would be a problem then if that hot girl turns out to be male, but otherwise, why even care?

Personally, I take everyone I meet at face value, and in Second Life on avatar face value. If I meet someone who’s a 30 feet tall herm huskymorph, then I’m not realy gonna be worrying about their RL tools, just as little as I’m going to care about the fact that OMG, they might NOT be as tall, or as fluffy in RL. For me, that’s a matter of courtesy and respect, they choose to be whatever their avatar is in Second Life, so to make a problem out of it is just rude.

Its like going to see Pirates of the Carribean; “Heeeey! I know that guy! He’s not REALLY a pirate, he’s an actor! he’s faking it! ZOMG!”

Also, in my book, friendship is about who the person is, not about what the person is.

And when it is about the hooker you’re gonna pay for fake sex? Everything about it is fake, so still: why make a problem about that one teeny little detail? you’re paying fake money to look at fake avatars having fake sex, with or without clicking fake genitals to make them emote pieces of text. Afraid you might be gay if the whore you just got off on happens to be a guy in reality? you dont have to really, cause your avatar still banged a female avatar. Not like you had sex with the other person behind the other screen. and to quote a little meme: it aint gay unless balls are touching.

PS Assuming the guys who play girls in SL must be TG or straights wanting to see lesbian sex, is assuming a lot. there’s numerous other possible reasons and explanations.

I am a male who plays a female avatar in Second Life. I’m not gay, I’m not TG and I’m not into SL sex – in fact it turns me off, it’s just cartoon sex, and I see it as the same thing as perving on Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Even the real women who play SL women, they are using a skin. Most times created by a man. So you’re getting off on something created by a man, but controlled by a woman. It gets muddy, don’t it?

When I started off, I was presented with a screen and some options to decide who I wanted to be in this virtual world. I didn’t want to be myself. I have a great First Life, and I’m happy. I thought, this is the perfect chance to try things I would never be. I am never going to be a woman. I don’t want to be in real life. But I do wonder, as I suspect all guys wonder, what it would be like? And, I’m guessing women probably wonder as well, what would it be like to be a man?

The anonymous poster on May 7, 2008 at 02:12pm got it bang on: nobody is who they say they are, and that’s the whole point and fun of Second Life.

Am I a pervert? A fraud? Or am I merely experiencing the true Second Life, and living a virtual life and exploring things real life doesn’t offer. If you really want to know who I am in real life, come meet me in real life. On Second Life, I can explore, just as Linden Lab intends.

Usually when people judge other people on their behavior they should look in the mirror.

Well, It was rather a short remark. I had a long text, but lost it because I had to run for the train.
“every female avatar I see I am suspicious of being some sad guy”
That is sad really.. I mean, admitting that you distrust any other female in second life because it could be a man?
“I have sooooooo much respect for those few men that actually play male avatars”
So actually here you admit, you have no problem with those sad men playing women because that is a perfect way to discern them. The good men are those rare and exotic types that actually play male avatars. The others are sad men who play “large unrelastic tanned large breasted creature(s)” you want to avoid.
Problem solved. Avoid females and hit on men.
    Have fun, Susan.
A simple world for a simple person.
I wonder why you come to sl at all. Oh wait, you might not be that 25 years old looking tanned perky breasted blond female with d-sized bra and long legs that you play in sl. Imagine all the rare and exotic guy being so disappointed when they find out how you really look..
    @ John Kelly
I wouldn’t bother with people like Susan. My experience is that you will probably never be in her social space anyway. Just do whatever you like, I do to. And yes, there are always people who want to tell you what to do or not.. but if you think about it: those are rarely the people you either want or need as friends.

    Anyone else: happy new year!
