The Federation of Hamlet Linden

Hamlet Linden wraps up his tenure tomorrow as Linden Lab’s in-house blogger on all things Second Life, and has already found a new home. As Hamlet announced today, he’ll be joining Federated Media Publishing Inc., home network of such touchstone blogs as BoingBoing and Metafilter, where he’ll presumably keep on doing what he’s been doing for the last three years, though under the lash of a different master. Still no word on Hamlet’s new in-world name. We look forward to his continuing contributions to the conversation. Congratulations are in order.

“Still no word on Hamlet’s new in-world name.”
Actually, Hamlet has announced to those of us in the New World Notes group that his new name is Hamlet Au. Not sure if that’s created yet or not, but that’s what he’s told us.

BoingBoing is where LL advertises SL, it gets a lot of hits.
If you follow the links to Hamlet’s blog, you’ll get his link to the advertising department of Federated Media Publishing Inc., if you wish to place ads. Once there, you’ll read the Federated’s ad policy: in order to keep the authors “independent,” they have the right to reject any advertisers that don’t fit with their “culture”. It would be funny to try to run through a test for Ravenglass Rentals lol. No doubt he already has the Electric Sheep and SLBoutique etc lined up.
If we thought Hamlet would be breaking through with his FIC-sination, we’d be wrong. Knowing he is about to break free, Hamlet has had a literal binge glut of FICerati — Lordfly’s public debt story being the one with the all-time record for chutzpah. I’ve put comments to some of these stories that are perfectly well within the TOS — he’s routinely removed them out of spite. Amazing! Imagine, would it be possible that Linden Lab was actually a kind of restraining influence on the celebration of the FIC and SIC, and now we’ll see it blooming all over in the guise of “indepence” on Hammie’s blog, just like we’re seeing it here *cough*.

Perhaps he removed them not out of spite, but, more likely because he got tired of your raving loony rants
Is there anything that you dont have some shallow opinion on that you like every one to beleive is the objective be all and end all ?

I’m pretty sure FMP has nothing to do with Metafilter, since Mefi is run by one guy.
