in-world paper cuts itself out of circulation
by Pixeleen Mistral, National Affairs desk
After a 4 month run, Redaktisto Noble has closed the Democrat’s notecard printing press – throwing in the ink stained towel on his dream of running his own in-world “objective” press. The Democrat was founded in July with the goal of providing in-world (meaning TOS-compatible) news delivered to subscribers via notecard.
The Democrat’s demise was announced by Doeko Cassidy in a press release this afternoon – the same release announced the immediate acquisition of the Democrat. This seems to mean two things – subscribers of The Democrat will have the remainder of their subscription fees returned to them – and Mr. Noble will go to work at the Second Life News Network paper. The Herald staff held a solemn candle-lit ceremony commemorating the event, then sent the interns off to see if they could liberate any extra notecards or office supplies from the Democrat’s office under cover of darkness.
