Mermaid Synchronized Swimming at Elf Holiday Charity Fundraiser

The Elf Circle’s charity fundraiser week kicks off with a splash at 6 pm SL time, December 7th as a the merfolk perform a synchronized swim and dance at Mystica (139,101,54). Mermaid synchronized swimming sounds like exactly the sort of thing that Herald readers need to experience – it may even float the spirits of those who’s hopes sank with the most recent Second Life updates.

The merfolk performance is part of a series of events co-sponsored by the Elf Circle and Isle of Wyrms to benefit the charities of American Red Cross, Toys for Tots, Habitat for Humanity, and Doctors without Borders. This week’s events will include several concerts by artists such as cypress Rosewood, Fflewddur Llanfair, ColeMarie Soleil and the Otherworld Orchestra, Heath Elvehjem, AldoManutio Abruzzo, Samadhi Cleanslate, and Frogg Marlowe and Professor Blackmountain.

Other events will include dances, featuring Michele Woebegone and others as DJ. There will be mermaid treasure hunts, ornament and other classes at the Mystica sandbox, ice skating races, storytelling, fireworks, and much more.

Stop by ElvenMoor and Mystica, within the ElvenLands. Posters will be set up at the portals to show SL citizens where the events are within each land. Events run from December 7 to December 15, 2006 , at locations both in the Elvenlands and throughout SL.

Vanilla Jessop tells the Herald that the Elf Circle, Isle of Wyrms, and other groups believe that this time of year is one for sharing our good fortune with the less fortunate – and that if this event can touch the life of a child or someone else in great need, that the striving to make this week successful will be worthwhile.
