STABLE Talks In Response to MOSCOW

SL military groups continue negotiations

treaty negotiations continue

April 19th at 20:06 SL time an organization of military groups gathered in conference to discuss a new more improved treaty in answer to the Merczateer proposed MOSCOW: Military Organization Standard for Conventional Operations and Warfare. The conference organized by the Alliance Navy was set forth to improve the SLSALT (Second Life Strategic Arms Limitation Talks) – by not only rewriting it, but by starting from scratch involving the entire military community. Groups being represented at this first of many meetings were SPARTA, Grand Federation USC, AN, SLSN, Corsairs and CDR.

Until now,the war between AN and Merczateers has merely been personal, but as the Merczateers’ attempt on an answer to the SLSALT with MOSCOW, and now the AN beginning a new involving all possible — it is clear this conflict has gone political. I had a chance to catch up with Alenzia Epsilon who is keeping record and overseeing with others on the development of STABLE. The proposed areas of debate and regulation:

Weaponry and Ammunition (allowable rate of fire, ammo types, etc.)
Leadership and Personnel Behavior (attacking base under non-group tags, avatar flight, etc.)
Vehicles and Aircraft (possibility of depleting fuel for vehicles, weapons systems by vehicle type, etc.)
Equipment Source and Content (minimizing laggy scripts, protection of intellectual property, etc.)
Land and Territory Regulations (Estate banning, setting land to safe, invalid homepoints, etc. )
Enforcement and Regulation (inter-group regulation enforcement, appropriate actions for infractions, regulatory body made up of all member groups, etc. )

To learn more, I spoke with Alenzia Epsilon – one of the participants in the STABLE talks.

Omega Groshomme: STABLE? What does this new treaty name stand for?
Alenzia Epsilon: STABLE stands for Standards Treatise on Armaments, Behavior and Limited Engagement.
Omega Groshomme: What is the goal for STABLE? And why not the recently proposed MOSCOW?
Alenzia Epsilon: The goal is to offer the combat community a chance to create their own treaty in the steps first put forth in SLSALT – it was a good start, but now we need to let the voices of all be heard.
Alenzia Epsilon: As I mentioned, MOSCOW (previously ANSUCKS) was formed on the basis of exclusion, and is being basically dictated to the group, not really using an open forum, or encouraging people to bring their ideas to the table.

Snapshot_003
bringing ideas to the table

Alenzia Epsilon: MOSCOW -is- the same treaty as ANSUCKS. That speaks volumes – a treaty first created with such an obvious agenda is not going to be neutral or unbiased. We are trying to be. That’s why we invited the Mercz to send their people, though they unfortunately declined.
Alenzia Epsilon: This is not a treaty run by the AN – this is run by the community.
Omega Groshomme: Most people see the Merczateer proposed MOSCOW is a way of isolation and is seen as communist, what is your take on this?
Alenzia Epsilon: Well, as they’ve not really included us in the creation, I’ve not been able to look over the drafts completely, though from what I have heard, it sounded like an attempt to force conformity where there could be innovation.
Alenzia Epsilon: I feel MOSCOW was an attempt to exile people the mercz didn’t like, and an attempt to defame and spread lies to the combat community – it was an obvious targeted negative PR campaign at the start – as for now, I’ve been too busy with STABLE to really keep up with the alleged changes.
Alenzia Epsilon: The Mercz aren’t bad people, I just feel they are taking a direction by dictating the terms of their treaty that many people are wary about – people are more comfortable following rules if they had a chance to see the process behind forming them.
Alenzia Epsilon: That’s our theory.
Omega Groshomme: As a participant of STABLE,what may i contribute to the creation of this treaty and would i be heard?
Alenzia Epsilon: Each combat group is allowed a maximum of 4 delegates, and they may offer their thoughts, and opinions during the debate phase. Each combat group is allowed one vote – this ensures no matter the group’s size, they are represented fairly, and come time for drafting, all groups will have an equal voice in deciding policy through a simple majority.
Alenzia Epsilon: Basically, we move topic to topic within our larger topic areas that I passed, until we’ve exhausted the debate, then will move to the next large topic.

Snapshot_002
debating topics to exhaustion

Alenzia Epsilon: Observers are allowed, but to keep things neat, all speaking is to be done through the delegates.
Omega Groshomme: You had mentioned earlier the Merczateers declined your invitation. Any certain reason?
Alenzia Epsilon: I really shouldn’t speculate, but like I’d mentioned earlier – they don’t see a reason to explore any other treaties, as they do not see a flaw with their treaty. That’s my best guess.
Omega Groshomme: Is this meeting just the base, will there be more in the future?
Alenzia Epsilon: Oh, this is only the beginning. We plan to meet again, and are very hopeful that more groups will contribute to the talks – we want to be sure that we come up with a good idea of what everyone wants before we convene to draft this. We’ve even discussed putting together a permanent review board to oversee the implementation and regulation of the treaty when it is completed.
Alenzia Epsilon: We expect the talks to span over several days, as we are keeping the actual meetings nice and short – we want to make sure people have time to enjoy SL – not eat up all their time.

Talks between these groups on this treaty will continue and all involved welcome more groups who see eye to eye. Development of this new treaty “STABLE” will give all groups involved a opportunity to help create it and bring it into effect. The AN and Corsairs STABLE might just be the one agreement the military in SL has been looking for as well an improvement over the isolated doctrine brought on by the Merczateers. These meetings will continue to be reported to let the public know of its progress in the future.

You just made an incredibly faulty descision Bruno. My military ACTUALLY has 25-30 active followers, and a dozen or so in us at a time. Also, DO YOU KNOW WHO OUR ALMUNI ARE? Let’s say this, the ROK of SL has had Sephiroth Tretiak, now an AN member, BK Forder, one of SL’s best small arms fire users, and not to forget Katrice Kivioq, who still actively assists us in our operations.

Another thing, WE SUPPORT THE MERCZ COMPLETELY. Saying that “why would the support them” is faulty”. Here is some history…

Inuyasha Deere, accused of being a spy by Kyle Hiyashi (psst- now a civilian enemy on CN’s growing civilian and corporate enemy list), was ejected from The Merczateers Tactical Forces, formed TISN, and failed with it’s poorly armed and untrained forces to the stellar Mercz defense.

SN was founded, we tried to ally with AN and showed them complete respect. AN called us idiots and said to “leave their sims” after a couple weeks. AN calling us idiots, now SLSN, you, Caogirl and Caoboy, pick up a good ol’ Merriam-Webster. Anyone who truly knows CN knows that it is a group that looks to end AN, racism against furs, the W-Hats, griefers, and Mr. Lee’s Greater Hong Kong; SL’s biggest scam besides “Hippy Pay”. We are a conservative state and look to spread the idea of Republican Imperialism, though we will ally with one of any political beliefs. Calling us unintelligent… look at the cockney SLSN.

Finally CN was founded, we have half a dozen allies, and we hope to add SRM, Mercz, and COR to that growing list in the future.

We do have ships, though look to the seas, not the skies.

Sea Division reserves and Air Force reserves are mobilized with this statement, as we are preparing for war with the rogue state of Sparta.

Good luck Mercz,SAS,Army SL,Feds,SRM,COR,USMC,Secondlife Navy,Terrirorial Navy, Legend Army, or any other states threatend by the Axis states of SLSN, AN, Army #989087, The Baldassare Family, Police Department SL, or Sparta.

    With All Due Respect,

Imperial Admiral of The Navy of Charleston Harbor- Inuyasha Deere.

Again, WE SUPPORT MERCZ ENTIRELY. Maybe that is why we got a little bit of support at The Third Battle of Kurkenbrai.

*Chuckles* Inuyasha, you sound like a complete idiot in your ramblings. “The rogue state of Sparta” *Laughs* You really think you’re big and bad, don’t you? How sad. You can stop trying to scare me, as I don’t get scared of virtual threats. Go ahead, try us. Oh and am I on that *secret* list of yours as an enemy? Oh goody! One more thing: you’re not a true Republican. In fact, you’re making true Republicans look like idiots just by mentioning them and your so-called Republican Imperialism crap.

Republican Imperialism not existing? Martial Law Imperialism not existing.
Ill give ya a Chiang-Kai-Shek. Welcome to post-WWII East Asian history class.

Next, how can you look into my head and see that I am not right wing? If you were that hipnotic, you could have killed off the RL population by now. Seriously, calm down.

Republican Imperialism= Modern Day US Republican Beliefs with longer terms for elected presidents, we call them emperors. They are elected for five years, and may present five bills to congress during their canidacy. If either the House or Senate has an approval rate of 25 percent on this bills, the bill is passed. And again, a key Republican belief, FLAT TAX.

Your rouge state and what you express to resemble hypnotic abilites are odd.

    Praise the Shek.

kids kids…. I thought your big concern was about griefers in SL, protesting RL Business like one (idiot) claims that IBM hired AN for protection and what not.

But now you kids are playing stupid game by making rules? Geez, I wonder how that works with real idiot greifers in SL, would they follow your rule of “combat”?

and Herald…. where the fuck were you to ask that kind of questions?

Oh right… they don’t care, they just want a shit-up drama on their site, to feed some attention to the advertising deal that you see on the side of the pages. Meaning they are losing their traffic.

AN and Mercz are being used for mere profit.
(I’ve been wondering when you kids are going to figure that one out for yourself?)”

    I think I love you.

“Inuyasha, your post has both nothing to do with this article AND is feeble-minded, showing that you are a total noob and a waste of prims. Your forces are nothing more than noobs without any training, armed with freebie weapons that I have seen them use whenever they attempt to attack the AN’s base. As I have spent quite a few hours at the AN’s bases, I can say with full confidence that they do NOT wear shields. Anybody who stays on the base long enough can tell that the AN don’t wear shields, kid. If you fire at them and the AN are not dying, that most likely means that your shots aren’t hitting them. Well, guess that happens when you don’t TRAIN your guys, huh? It’s funny how much you sound like Ares Artizar, as you both are total retards who can’t even make a worthwhile defense of your pitiful base. As for your attacks on the SLSN, I would back down from attacking them, as they are allies of the AN and are friendly with Sparta. To be honest, I’ve been itching to find a noob group like yours with a base to attack. You put one foot down on the SLSN base, and you’re guaranteed to feel the wrath of both the AN and Sparta. We beat the Persians so I doubt you’ll be any better.”

Bruno, you make yourself shrink when you taunt those smaller than you.

Hello, despite this comment does not remotley relate to this article, I will not be on SL until the MOSCOW meeting at 3:30 SLT on Friday. I will also be fifteen minutes late for it.

As for SLSN leaving flags on my base- if you are so inconciderate as to leave those flags at Fort Sumter, go ahead. I don’t care much for a group that talks in an indestinguishable dialect of the English language and dissrespects its enemies. If I captured your base, I would take my pictures, then pick up my prims and discretely leave.

Leave them on my base until I am online- I don’t freaking… care.

  8. Inuyasha Deere

    Apr 25th, 2007

Another thing, I am insulted by using the word “reatard”. Mental Retardation is a medical condition, and has no remote relation to what we are talking about.

Another thing. Threatening us like that, saying that if we set foot on the SLSN base we will be humiliated by a coailition of AN,SLSN, and Sparta is a major threat that we will not be taken lightly. Also, if any of these sick rogue states take action against groups neuteral to us or our allies, there will be consequences for the one who attacks these militaries.

While I hate to agree with a pro-AN statement, I feel that the SLSN-CN war is the Korean War of the AN-Mercz war, the main stage of SL’s Cold War.

Sparta, to send a counterattack to your threat, if you set foot on CN headquarters, which is currently The Grand Federation and Legend Army headquarters at the time, you will be attacked by LA and CN, and there is a good chance The Grand Federation will attack you.

This is serious buisness Bruno, I will not allow you to bully the Anti-griefing groups of SL and the Merczateers any longer. Here are the enemies of CN who are in any, way, shape or form associated with the SL Cold War.

Martial- AN, SLSN, Sparta, Army #989087, Army & Forces, The Baldassare Family, Police Department SL.

Civilian- Kilmar Gestort, Kyle Hiyashi, Crisschun Fassbinder.

Corporate- Mr. Lee’s Greater Hong Kong, The Nolan Night Club of France.

And by the way, our men are very well trained. One of my alumni, BK Forder, killed 21 AN before he was teleported back to his home during the Third Battle of Kurkenbrai. Also, Sephiroth Tretiak, Ex-CN, is a master of small arms fire. Ever heard of Katrice Kivioq? Well, that good ol’ furry was the head of our Air Force at one time.

Calling us poorly trained is faulty Bruno, I am the worst in small arms fire of all of my men, I stay at the top because of my leadership and martial strategy skills. We are just about to push through the wall that seperates us from the larger martial groups. Aquiring a base was a far off dream a month or so ago, now we have recruited five men in the last week and aquired an excellent base which we willingly share as The Grand Federation HQ and a Legend Army base.

Grow up, if the Persians wanted, all of East Europe could have been theirs, the just did not want to dedicate all of their time and give up lives uselessly. In the end, from Macedonia to Crete would be flaming- If they wished.

  10. Inuyasha Deere

    Apr 25th, 2007

Yes, the Mediterranian would be flaming; that is how excellent the Persian Empire was. Greece= Turkey adapted into Western culture.
Turkey= 50 Percent Classic Arabic. Fifty percent Western and small ally of the US.

Oh Bruno, I once had such respect for you, and you showed great promise. Unfortunately, so long as you continue to spew the thoughts and ideals spun up and spoon fed to you by the Alliance Navy, you will never be a significant, recognizable faction. Step back for a moment to analyze the scene, and gather your own intelligence, and make your judgements then.

“Now, let’s see….a military group, fighting another military group. How is that unexpected? And how about all those threats that Inuyasha, who runs the CN (and despite being a so-called “navy” don’t have a single ship that’s anywhere near useful) made to the AN, threatening their destruction? Are those threats supposed to be just ignored? Perhaps, but where would be the fun in that?”

-When the MOSCOW talks began, CN dropped their hostilities and declared an intent to reform. The Alliance Navy may consider themselves a military group, but to force themselves upon a group that no longer wishes to have business with them? A ban is the only reasonable course of action. As to your point on “fun”, the Alliance Navy has never shown themselves to be concerned with the fun of others, why should we be concerned with theirs?

“*cough, cough* Wow this bullshit is thick. Guess what? The AN IS ALLIED WITH SLSN. Want proof, besides the words of the AN? The AN is the group thats helping the SLSN to get up on their feet, a noble act, although this is invariably going to be misconstrued as the AN growing another group to control, something that is impossible, as I have seen the SLSN have different viewpoints on some things, and the AN didn’t get all pissy and start whipping them or anything. Next on the agenda….”

-Doesn’t matter if they’re allied or not. Steve319 Cao, leader of the SLSN has been an active, helpful participant in the MOSCOW talks, even if he is participating in STABLE as well. Because he has been participating in MOSCOW, he and his men are recognized as MOSCOW combatants. The Alliance Navy, while extended a full invitation to MOSCOW, has declined repeatedly. Because they do not participate in MOSCOW talks, they are not recognized as MOSCOW combatants, and because of this will be dealt with as griefers should they engage MOSCOW factions.

“WOW, isolationism AND gathering your own dominating power? Now tell me THAT’S not Communist. Correct me if I am wrong, but you had said that MOSCOW was not meant as an end to the AN, yet later on you say that it is. I could post chat lags here from the MOSCOW meeting I took about how you accused the AN of pushing everyone around (more lies, as the AN have never pushed me around), but SL is down right now.”

    -com·mu·nism /ˈkɒmyəˌnɪzəm/ Pronunciation Key – Show Spelled Pronunciation[kom-yuh-niz-uhm]
    noun
    1. a theory or system of social organization based on the holding of all property in common, actual ownership being ascribed to the community as a whole or to the state.
    2. (often initial capital letter) a system of social organization in which all economic and social activity is controlled by a totalitarian state dominated by a single and self-perpetuating political party.
    3. (initial capital letter) the principles and practices of the Communist party.

MOSCOW is not communism. Each group owns and controls their own property, finances, and resources. In addition, the group is comprised of multiple factions, each with an equal voice in the operations of the agreement, no matter their size. One could argue that I myself am a “single, and self-perpetuating political party” but that is simply not the case. When MOSCOW has finished draft stages, and is fully enacted, I myself will be stepping down from the position of moderator in order to devote more time to my duties as a member of the Merczateers. As for the accusations of me using MOSCOW to further my own agenda, let me say this: While I despise what the AN has become, and would like nothing more than to see them return to their former place as a majestic, noble group that people were glad to see, I am not using MOSCOW to attempt to strangle them into submission. If I were, I would have ignored the wishes of yourself and Corsair, and not extended them a full, non-conditional invitation into the MOSCOW talks. Your point is debunked.

“Honestly Ethan, I don’t know why the Mercz even support the CN, besides that the CN want to destroy the AN and nothing more. Inuyasha and his *cough* navy *cough* are nothing more than a bunch of kids who start whining when nothing goes their way. The attack on the CN is a show of pure military politics, the only kind of politics a Spartan like me can stand without falling asleep: You mess with the big boys, you end up in the hospital. Banning them from his base only showed that Inuyasha tried to pick on a group bigger than him before he was even close to being ready. Underdog? Under foot is more like it. You could do so much better for allies (or at least pets) Ethan, honestly.”

Once again, Bruno, I urge you to get your facts straight. While I don’t know CN’s agenda, let me be perfectly clear about one thing: The Merczateers are NOT allies of CN, we are neutral with them. My interactions with CN yesterday, and support of them of them in their conflict with the SLSN/AN was based solely on AN’s presence there, and went to help CN deal with the AN presence there. Neither Mercz nor MOSCOW supports the Avatar Flight and weaponry used by CN in their engagement of SLSN, but that will be addressed this Friday. The SLSN’s presence and engagement of CN was well within MOSCOW regulations, the AN’s was not. And Bruno… considering your attitudes and statements as of late, you are in no place to call Inuyasha and CN “pets” when you have been acting like a glorified Templar lapdog. Develop and support your own position, and then come back to this field.

I hereby declare that CN DID av fly yesterday. It was immature and odd for us to do that. The only reason behind it though was transportation to areas around the base, as we have poor access to the upper railing from the core building. We will gladly accpet all disciplinary actions from MOSCOW, in our willingness to fix our reputation and our goal to be viewed as a Pro-Merczateer group in the SL community. While LA DID fly for offensive reasons, CN merley flew for the reason of quick transportation, however, I agree this action is inexcusable. One thing I would like to bring up though. While the Republic of Korea (AKA CN) and Legend Army avatar flying was a major mistake, SLSN took advantage of avatar flying while we remained on the ground. An LA Colonel was tempted to av fly in a two wrongs DO make a right scenario, and thus they took off the ground to combat, while we flied to reach guntowers.

I apologize for these actions and will accept whatever is given to CN by MOSCOW.

    Sincerely,

    Imperial Admiral Inuyasha Deere

    “Dot. Dot. Dot.
Does that mean if the mercz show up in the woofer and we ban them all before they can shoot, its a victory? Had the sim not been set to no access, make no mistake. The fight would have continued.
To use banning as a way to say “Yay! We Won!” is childish, but perhaps there are more people who think this way. Perhaps thats why MOSCOW is appealing to a few groups. Because banning can somehow be considered a win of sorts.

Thats a joke. Sorry, but thats a pure joke.”

Yes, because we all know that the input of someone who knows nothing of leadership and diplomacy other than spin, deceit, and pulling a trigger really matters in this argument. Honestly, how did you get to be an admiral? Bans are only used against individuals who refuse to follow MOSCOW rules of engagement when engaging in violent activity on MOSCOW faction land, as you and your thugs did last night. Spin all you like, but nothing will change the fact that you are hiding behind rhetoric in order to disguise your fear of being challenged under rules you didn’t write. Funny, I’d have thought you’d be the last of AN to turn down a fight. I’ve always viewed you as a pretentious hypocrit, but never until now did I take you to be a coward.

“Mmm. I cannot really blame my superiors for passing up such an opportunity. Buy the Kremlin? What better way to celebrate a victory. Jonathan Arna sold this little memento of his own free will. Are you going to say that selling an object that is his is wrong? Hell, I’m sure you’d see the funny side if you bought the ‘Green Tower’. I certainly would.”

Mr. Arten, the Merczateers actually WERE given an opportunity quite similar to this. Shortly after your purchase of our Kremlin, a full perms copy of your Talon fighter (and all the scripts and weapons inside it) landed in our hands, in addition to a rather large cache of other pieces of your technology. The authentication system has been cracked, so we also have those fighters FUNCTIONAL. Does this mean we’ve used them in any way, technologically or in combat? No, because we recognize that this would be wrong. You took our KREMLIN, something we worked HARD to build. You spat in our faces, and we showed you the grace of not releasing your pride and joy as a freebie, as many would have liked us to have done. Humor? Funny? I don’t think so. The fact that nothing was done to rectify this reprehensible act, but that it was applauded by your command speaks volumes about the so-called integrity of the mighty AN. And then declaring victory, after we closed our sim to try to repair the hole you had so ruthlessly gutted into us? Then claiming WE are the ones who escalated this war to a new, political level? Say what you like, but the Merczateers are honorable, and the Alliance Navy is not, and so long as this is true, the Alliance Navy will never be able to claim victory over us, or any other group.

Hmm well funny thing is Inuyasha Deere I remember your group origanaly giving up after all of 3 shots were fired when Steve Cao (the leader of SLSN) brought all of 6 Cadets with him.
The perviously mentioned scuffle where “The Mercz supported you” they origanaly came to shoot you as well but after a bit got bored of the shooting contest made from you as you’d poke your head out of your office and turned onto the SLSN.
All CH has done is stomp as hard as it can on the larger groups toes and annoy them to the point where for a long time your going to wish you hadn’t as they turn an eye on you and remind you how small you really are with a little force…
Oh andthe SLSN had to actually tell the Mercz not to bomb you as well.. they were hitting the surounding areas (civilians.. thats a no-no)

Who cares if the Mercz turned on me? They have reaspons to do so, as I have attacked their base on numerous occasions in the past.

    Secondly,

I am full of ******** is a bizzare comment. Honestly, those who know me know that my odd “ish don’t tink so” and “ROFLBERRY PWNCAKES” tirades are items made up when I purposely try to look like an idiot. CN’s allies, LA and the feds, know why this war truly started.

CN stated a desire of cooling of poor relations with SLSN.

SLSN acted in a bizzare manner to these comments, and brought up comments and items from the long collapsed SN’s olden days. I continued to act normally, and stated that this was a good thing for both groups. SLSN threatend war and said we had twenty four hours to surrender.

SLSN broke it’s promise and attacked Fort Sumter two hours later, spawnkilling CN’s leader, Inuyasha Deere. They took pride in this and flagged our base.

The next morning, the LA/Grand Federation base was attacked by SLSN.

Finally that night, the third battle of Kurkenbrai took place, putting CN,LA,some of The Grand Federation, and Katrice Kivioq against SLSN. Allied Forces won the first part of the battle until AN arrived, and ultimately the battle was lost from there on.

The war with SLSN is still continuing, and CN,LA, and their civilian and martial allies will prevail.

I’ll let you in on a little secret Inuyasha- I am in annapolis right now, and as a sailor, I love drinking. So your insult is actually a compliment on my drinking ability. You’re so nice. And you’re right Phantom, whiskey is my favorite drink too-a good stiff Jameson (that’s an irish whiskey Inuyasha) is my favorite.

sorry not as of now, both are not finished. with in the next week or two at least one of them should be done, but that’s a rough guess. at the time they will be available to any party interested in them.

Hmm,I am going to attempt to enter the Navy as an officer after this bizzare stage of life called “college” by some human beings is over. We will see at that time. Secondly, drinking…. ensigned people?

Inuyasha, every person I know in real life that has ever served in the army and wasn’t kicked out likes to drink, not to the point of being a drunk, but on weekends they like to drink.

and I do know when they are on brake they went drinking, not sure when they ever drunk while they where in active service, but it wouldn’t surprise me much if they did.
