What if I told you of a place where men are lead about on leashes, women are fully in charge and there is a local made up currency to use? Now imagine that it is now in Second Life.
The Other World Kingdom, OWK, has been known in bondage/fetish circles for a number of years. Started on June 1, 1996 in the Czech Republic, it is a resort, if you are into that type of thing, for those who believe in female supremacy and male submissiveness. Male submissives and dominant women both go to enjoy a D/s life style in Real Life. As part of the experience of being in a absolute monarchy and matriarchy with state slaves, the OWK uses the Dom as a currency, usable on the grounds and in the gift shop.
The OWK in SL started in the beginning of this year. The main difference between the RL and SL versions of the OWK is that female submissives are allowed on the Sim. There are other differences such as a voted upon Queen with a three month term and a prison available to anyone, not just to OWK members.
The slaves of the OWK agree to be on the island exclusively and to be in character the entire time for at least 10 hours per week and limit IM’s to emergency situations. They wear collars that monitor their movements and log-ins. If an applicant is accepted as a state slave, they must pay $1000L for the collar and $100L per week for stable rental.
For a challenge, the OWK accepts ponies. For $50L per day during the training and then $100L per week after, you too can be a pony slave to the ladies of the OWK if you are able to never talk in open chat. A trainer will help you for at least 50 hours online as she directs you to the proper tack, which can cost $1000L.
If a woman wants to be a full citizen, she must also pay $1000L but also bring in two slaves to the group, similar to the RL rules for the OWK in ownership of slaves. She must spend at least 10 hours on the Sim prior to acceptance. Additionally, she must be fully dominant and not a switch between dominant or submissive.
As a result of all the fund raising efforts, 30% of all the money raised is to be directed back to the OWK in the Czech Republic. The sim does have some unique bondage furniture. If you are interested, mostly full access to the sim costs $250L by joining the OWK in SL group. If you go, remember that they are fully female dominant and that they don’t like dominant males.

Gor is constantly insulted, mocked, griefed, and verbally attacked pretty much whenever it comes up. Just look at the last Post 6 girl, who was a gorean and ranted about it, she got ripped apart quite a bit over it. Gor is about the bottom of the totem pole in the eyes of most SL users I’d say, where the most desperate, pathetic, and pale go to pretend they’re Conan.

Artemis – I’ll say this for the Gor sims; they’ve some of the most detailed period architecture of any sim I’ve been to. Used to wander around from Gor Town to Gor Town just to check them out.
That being said… they have their sexual fantasies, or the roleplays which they want to do. More power to them; same here. If a lifestyle sub wants to go join OWK and pay kash munneyz to be a silent ponyboy…
…hell, good for him, I guess. By -definition,- the people from this sim aren’t going anywhere else on the grid. It is physically impossible for them to affect or offend people outside of it. To everyone who is/who will raise a fuss – why?

First, a quick correction: It’s only the official State Slaves, that is, the slaves who apply and are officially adopted and owned by the Queen, who are subject to limits such as not leaving the sim without a Guardess escort and having to be there for at least 10 hours a week. We also offer prison sentences, which entail equally harsh treatment, but for short lengths of time, usually 2-3 weeks.
Guardesses are the prison wardens and state slave caretakers, dishing out the discipline and punishment to all of the OWK in SL official slave residents. Many of the slaves who come to us, however, are freelance and seeking a Mistress or are already owned by an OWK Lady Citizen. In addition, the Guardesses serve as hosts, ensure that the rules are being followed, and deal with misbehavior when it occurs.
Personally, I make it a point to tell the newbs I speak with that the place isn’t for everyone, but if it’s for you, you’ll have a wonderful time. We have a core group of participants who have become quite a family, and we welcome like-minded people to participate and join the roleplay.
I personally own a female slave, who is usually leashed and accompanies me for much of the time I’m on the sim. We do have our own sets of rules (one for subs and one for Ladies), and we try to make it a unique and special experience for those who are looking for what we have to offer. In that, we’re really not all that much different than other BDSM sims, we just have our own special theme and way of doing things.
Let me also be quite clear: There is little, if any, actual cybersex going on at OWK, and absolutely none in public. The subs who come to us (for the most part) aren’t looking for sex, they’re looking to be beaten, abused, and humiliated. When I decide I want some sexual attention from my slave, we go back to my place off-sim and do it privately. Public nudity is forbidden in just about all areas of the sim, as are weapons (except for the whips carried by Guardesses and Ladies).
Again, this is by no means a place for everyone, or even for everyone into BDSM. That said, if it’s for you, you’ll know it when you visit us, and you’ll never want to leave. It’s an incredibly wonderful and satisfying place to be for those who are comfortable within our roleplay and social structure. Our staff are committed to providing the very best experience for everyone, and I believe that’s why we already have such a loyal following after just a few months in SL.

The American who had her sim named changed to OWK in January of this year has no affiliation with OWK in the Czech Republic. She trademarked their name in America because trademarks are country-specific and she knew they could not protest.

it is a nice little infomercial for this group. But some information is a little skewed. OWK in SL started a year ago on a sim named OWK owned by a czech. These people that opened OWK in January were members on the Czech OWK sim. They saw it was successful and used the name when the other OWK closed in December. This is not really their project. They just kept the old group and copied the Czech OWK.
