In a strange turn of events today, my alt found himself banned from the Woodbury sim. What began as a simple field trip to show my friend, Artfox (of Nipplegate fame) the clever policy sign on furries, ended in banishment for making a small joke about the ingredients of katsu. Now it just so happened that the robot following us around was named Phr0zen Katsu and apparently had never heard of a certain breed of dog known as the shitzu; hence, my question to my friend as to whether katsu was ever made with shitzu ended with me being stranded at Woodbury sea.
Now, not one to leave his friends behind, Artfox tried to smooth things over.

Given the number of furrys who have griefed Woodbury (spamming, sim crashings, malicious false abuse reports), not to concerned. At least at Woodbury they don’t automatically ban you for your appearance such as, for instance, how furry estates operate when they see an african american SL resident.

Looks like Woodbury has some good security and are keeping the troublemakers out. Those two quote-unquote “reporters” were acting more like furries. Were they? The Herald has its own Furry Flash Wrecking Crew now? Sent to cause Drama at Woodbury U? But, but, I thought that Woodbury and the Herald were… And that the PN were gone yeah but the Furries seem to be… But that doesn’t make any sense because the Herald wouldn’t try to play both sides of the conflict would it? At the same time?
I think that there is still a Landbaron + Furry + JLU connection at the SL Herald. The PN/Woodbury connection which was naturally formed to combat the Landbaron + Furry + JLU coalition may be dying out. The Woodbury part may persist with some degree of anarchy in their hearts, but the PN part seems to be dying out.
So I see this foray into Woodbury U by these 2 “reporters” in actuality as an attempt by the JLU to ping the security capabilities and readiness of Woodbury University. You may already be under attack Woodbury. And its possibly being directed by elements of the JLU within the SLH…
In the past I have detected definite elements of LandBaronism at the SLH. And also the definite elements of the JLU and GLC at the SLH. I thought that they were seperate elements. Different cliques. Now I am starting to think that they are the same person in a different disquise. I have watched you having secret meetings with them late at night. I think I know who you are…
WOW upon further reflection I see all this comes down to 2 Big Land Barons competing with each other. Who are the 2 big Land Barrons at the SL Herald?
The Herald CAN play both sides at once because it has at its core 2 Competing Land Barrons fighting to the death. So all this, all of it, the PN the JLU the GLC the Furries the warfare the whole FUCKING nightmare of Second Life has all been built up way way back in time as the accreding acoutraments of war, a war between 2 ruthless Land Barrons.

Interesting read, for those who care, I’m actually not an SL Herald reporter, i was referring to my friend, tho i confess i have submitted the occasional poem to them. Does that count? hehe
I was actually just admiring the build. Liked the way it resembled the sky buildings in Star Wars. Still do. I don’t plan to duplicate it or fight any land baron games, I agree sims stand or fall on their own merits
and apart from paying the Linden Lads their tier, its not about money for me.
I’ve no idea what all the acronyms (PN, JLU, GLC etc) above stand for, and anyone who knows me, knows I don’t play politics in SL, and I’m not associated with or against any group, nor do i have an opinion one way or the other on furries.
Some ppl are nice, some aren’t, regardless of the avatar they decide to wear. I wear a human avatar all the time. I do try to treat everyone well, however they might choose to treat me. I don’t plan on changing that any time soon.
Phr0zen is quite correct I did suggest he ban me too, I guess the fun was kind of over for me at that point.
I did google the history of woodbury university after I was banned, and it gave me some idea of why the guard might be a tad touchy, I IMed him as much and wished him a better day, and meant it. No value in wars in my opinion.
I bear no grudge.

The inherent anonymity of avatars in Second Life seems to make some people behave rather oddly. Because they can fly, teleport, use erzatz magical powers to build and destroy, they develop something of a god complex. A sense of arrogance begins to take over and they assume the role of “defender of the Faith,” with “the Faith” being whatever it is that the new godhead deems to be the Faith.
Their special type of godliness is typically reserved for newbies and folks to whom they take a dislike – for whatever reason. And remember, it is in the nature of gods to be contrary, fickle, and driven less by reason than personal whim.
The ability to ban is another manifestation of godhood. Although a reasonable tool in the right hands, it’s a source of ego-stroking for the petty god. So using it gives them a little thrill.
Another feature of the godly behavior is linguistic: They try to sounds smart, erudite, and logical, in an effort to make their quirky behavior seem rational. Here’s a great example from Phr0zenL

Note the attempt to make it sound as if Phr0zen is simply “doing my job” by saying that the bannee asked for it. Rather than discuss whether it was a joke, a sarcastic comment, an error, or a real request to be banned, Phr0zen simply pulls the “I was acting under orders” routine. Then there’s the “threat” that the conversation is being logged. Again, an appeal to some unidentified “other,” presumably the source of the god’s power.
This type of behavior is found in Real Life among people who normally have little to zero power but who then find themselves in a position of authority. Anyone who has spent time working in a fast food chain will be familiar with the scum-of-the-earth loser who suddenly takes out all their frustrations on the guy at the take-out window. Or the traffic warden who eagerly slaps tickets on any car that is 1 minute over.
Sadly, the Second Life environment attracts the weird, the warped, the crazy, and the loser. In a 2007 article by Destiny Welles (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/01/09/good_sex_in_second_life/page2.html), she observes that, “Second Life relationships can be very intense. There are needy, vulnerable people online here who can be exploited easily, and there is no doubt that there is spillover from SL into their real lives as well.”
The only way to deal with gods is to stop praying to them. Ignore them. Point out their flaws – like I’m doing here – and wait for them to be deposed by other gods. We don’t need to look to Linden Lab for Olympians; the virtual world already has plenty for us to meet.

A smidgen of milk takes away the bite of the tannin (I prefer black, Indian teas) and I took the cup into my office. I am now sipping my tea as I read the Herald and write this comment.
Now, do you see how banal, absurd, and totally irrelevant all that was? Is anyone interested at all in that? And that’s just a 10 minutes slice of my day. In 5 minutes I go to a meeting, in an hour I will eat an apple, and tonight I will take an AK-47 and machine gun a few people at a 7-11 store.
Oh wait, scratch the AK-47 story because that’s a LIE. See, I inject that because that IS interesting – if it were true. Alfred Hitchcock once said, “Drama is life with the dull parts cut out of it,” and that’s why a movie only lasts about 90 minutes (and a movie of my life would probably run about 15).
So tragic, but true, little happens in SL. That’s why we shouldn’t be so dismissive of “drama,” in all its shapes and forms. And remember, good drama makes us think about ourselves and the wider world, and that also leads to discussion – not unlike this thread.

Okay, case in point – you don’t put your personal information into SL, that’s fine. However, this is supposed to be an Official Woodbury University Site in Second Life, or so Intlibber and Foxchase, and Alyx Whatsatwitsky claim. But if it is, then who’s this fucktard Phr0zen Katsu, and why does he have any admin power at ALL without accountability?
The whole Woodbury thing is still tripe, and this is just more of the same. There are buildings there, but no classes. People nobody knows run the place – if you call that “running”, which I don’t. It’s not an educational site, it’s three sims strung together, only one of which has legal sanction from Woodbury itself – if you go there, you can see the letter from the University they put up at the landing point that clearly and unequivocally states this. The other two sims are just parked next to it. The one sim Intblub managed to get WU to vouch for doesn’t actually have anything going on there. Just a pile of buildings they threw up in a hurry to try to whitewash its past.
So it’s all IntLibber and Foxchase (banned again, eh, Tizzers? Still have your job at WU?) trying to make it look like a LOT more than it is, and hoping we’ll all forget that the whole thing started out as an attempt by Tizzers to hide behind, because he was (and still is) tight with the PN.

Part of me feels silly for even granting this garbage a response – a response which has been given a dozen times over, too.
Woodbury University and the Tizzers Foxchase account had both existed for months before the PN even discovered it’s existence. The idea that WU is or ever was a front for for the PN is not only untrue, it doesn’t even make chronological sense.

Why does the first comment and a few after that mention furries? I have seen not a trace of furfags in the whole article, and even the ‘artfox’ person looks, at least on the picture of him flying off over the sim, not at all to be a furfag.
Did I miss something here?
Or are people just as stupid as ever?
