The Herald editorial staff takes itself off to the 2006 edition of the South by Southwest Interactive Festival tomorrow, where we’ll be blathering on about all kinds of things while we’re not gorging ourselves on free food and stumbling around from party to party. The Herald’s Editor Emeritus, Urizenus Sklar, will be appearing on a panel on the 14th with none other than Second Life’s own Reuben Linden, all about how to become a virtual world entrepreneuer. (Where’s Anshe?) And later on the same day, newly annointed Herald Editor-in-Chief Walker Spaight will be talking about “the secret sex lives of video games” with SL’s Zero Grace (aka Tony Walsh of Clickable Culture), Kyle Machulis (aka SL’s qDot Bunnyhug of MMOrgy and Slashdong), Escapist magazine editor Julianne Greer, and Glennis McClellan of Republik Games. So get out your USB-enabled teledildonics peripheral and get ready to plug ‘n play.
[UPDATE:] Speaking of sexxy, dial on over to SecondCast #4 to hear all about Cristiano Midnight’s Fruit-of-the-Loom griefing of those peaceful, unassuming Gorean slaves and masters. And what could be more sexxy than a virtual journalist? I almost forgot to mention that Uri and I will also be giving a tag-team talk on Saturday the 11th at SXSW’s ScreenBurn Beta Festival (games, games, games!), all about the trials and tribulations of virtual journalism.
