Lion and VIrtual Woman’s SL Luv Moves To RL

Taser, duct tape, handcuffs, and BB gun set the mood for a very special romantic encounter
by Pixeleen Mistral, Romantic Affairs desk
Philadelphia’s NBC10.com describes a Second Life romantic relationship moving to real life, in a heartwarming story about how Kimberly Jernigan, a 33 year old Durham, NC postal worker drove hundreds of miles to rendezvous with her SL boyfriend, a 52 year old Delaware man. According to DelawareOnline the couple met in Second Life, where Jernigan is a “virtual woman”, and the un-named Delaware man is a lion.

Sadly, Ms. Jernigan’s romantic plans ended in heartbreak when her second attempt at kidnapping her Second Life ex-boyfriend were thwarted – the virtual lion was spooked when he saw a shadowy figure inside his home and a red laser playing across his chest. The lion-hearted victim had been subject to an attempted abduction two weeks earlier – apparently the result breaking off his SL romance.
After the victim fled the Tazer and duct tape wielding postal worker, he called the police, who investigated and found his ex-girlfriend’s dog bound in duct tape in his bathroom.
When informed of the news, spontaneous “Stop the Fursecution” protests broke out in Second Life, and the in-world economy speculators prepared for a rare growth spurt in sales of tazers, handcuffs, dog buscuits, and duct tape to the furry BDSM communities outside Ravenglass sim.
Friends of Gogi speculated that the RL canine had been role-playing a dog in Second Life and was attempting to warn Ms. Jernigan of the likelihood of further declines in virtual land values, and the importance of investing in a stock of rawhide chewtoys as a hedge against a possible Z$ Zorkmid gambling crash destablizing the L$ economy.
Supporting this theory is the news that the NBC10 report quotes Cpl. Trinidad Navarro as saying, “The dog was making too much noise, so she bound the dog with the duct tape she brought along to bound her ex-boyfriend”.. Navarro continued, “She had handcuffs, duct tape and a Taser. It’s pretty bizarre. We haven’t seen anything like this in the past”.
Cpl. Navarro apparently does not play Second Life, although M Linden hopes that this glimpse into the metaverse may pique his interest.
Ms. Jernigan’s dog Gogi was unavailable for comment other than to whine at the sight of duct tape and the Second Life login screen.

Just another case of “Don’t bring your SL into RL”
Even the BBC did a story about doing so and it ended up the lady who wanted to be with her E-BF was not what he though he was and ended up going back to the states to be with her Hubby to work things out with them both. Thankfully, that was a happy ending, unlike this one here

I actually live in the Delaware county region and IT is so creepy how close it is to me.(literally 5 minutes away from my home in RL near the incidient) NBC10 our news affiliate was the first to report this story before it was on the SLH and to be honest, this is why (well one of the reasons why..since i am married) I never invest my time with any type of romantic relationship. This is NOT a game no matter what the griefers and very naive nay-sayers tell us on any SL forum or newspaper.

Shut the hell up, it’s a game. You can’t feel your avatar’s feelings, and you probably, most certainly, positively, do not look like your avatar. Infact, you control it, a Character, like in a game.
‘Tis a game based on Community Interaction. Don’t flatter yourself with denial, I heard it leaves bruises on the Ego.

after extensive research I’ve uncovered that there is no NBC10 in philly. you’ve all just been trolled by slh.
however there is a playground in west Philadelphia, that I have pinpointed as the spot where a certain individual (i don’t think i need to mention his name) used to spend most of his days.
his activities included ( but are not limited to) various forms of:
chilling out.
maxxin.
relaxxin all cool.
and of course…
shooting some b-ball outside after school.
griefing saves derp.

You can be a dumbass and give out your personal information just as easily over WoW as you can over SL. SL = a Game.
The fact that you all persist in denying this just makes us lol.

dick burns i feel obligated to add that after further investigation it seems the person being referred to today has apparently evaded a cop with his name out and departed in a taxi to a rather large mansion located in a residential community near Los Angeles.
it is currently unknown whether this individual was involved in a series of graffiti incidents in Philadelphia, where he eluded police by pretended the cans of paint were spray deodorant, but he is a prime suspect.
griefing saves lives.

When someone goes out of their way to log onto a Second life e-zine and comment, it turns into real life. But like I said before…the naive ones say its a game.

In other news, Philly news casts have even better drama between their anchors and hosts:
A fired TV newscaster on Friday admitted that he illegally hacked into his co-anchor’s e-mail accounts and pleaded guilty to one count of illegally accessing a computer.
Larry Mendte admitted that he illegally viewed hundreds of Alycia Lane’s e-mails from March 2006 to May 2008, at a time when leaked information about her personal life contributed to her downfall.
Mendte and Lane co-anchored the evening broadcasts together for four years at KYW-TV, the CBS affiliate in Philadelphia — until Lane’s arrest in December after an alleged scuffle with New York police [during which she called a female officer 'dyke'].
Philly is definitely and interesting place to live, but I’ll stay north of the Delaware (Delawhere?) border.

i hope pix got a good laugh out of this himself, because the humor misses the mark for me, and judging by the replies, for most others too.
i mean, it could have been borderline funny, but pix just turned it into another shot at LL *yawn*, yet again couched in “humor”. then again, it was probably written with hopes of dazzling and further endearing himself to memekidz, so, obviously, the bar needn’t be set very high!
the freak in the story would be a freak whether or not SL existed. she would have just found someone else on some other VW/game to stalk. but pointing that out doesn’t help pix on her crusade against LL, now does it?
they have meds for OCD pix. you should look into it.
in fact, you can probably pick some up from one of the RNC attendees getting pickled in one of the 7th street bars (you know, since you seem to be SO hip with regard to St. Paul). you could probably hang out and have a few drinks with him/her/them, as you seem to have at least overreacting to any event that has a moral angle associated with it, in common.

it seems you’re sources are correct. i have indeed traced the suspects movements to suburban Los Angeles. the taxi you mentioned was hard to locate, but i was tipped off to search for one with a license plate reading “fresh” and to look for telltale dice in the mirror. upon inspecting this cab i could not describe in any way other than to say that this cab was “where.”
more to come.
