International SimCon to Take Place in February

According to a press release from the Splash Entertainment Group, an international convention for players of TSO is being planned for this coming February in Detroit, Michigan. Here are the particulars from the press release:

“The International SimCon (short for sim convention) will be the first of its kind since TSO’s public release one year ago. It will be held in Detroit, Michigan at the Radisson Kingsley Hotel, over the weekend of February 20th to 22nd, 2004. Over 200 players are expected to attend, to meet the humans behind their sim-friends, and get to know each other “IRL”, short for “In Real Life.””

I’m not sure if this is good or bad, but the event director, Troy Pruyt (Troy Kristoffer in game) says that they “want to bring the game experience to real life” by including several typical sim activities in the program – visits to casinos, parties (nothing about B&D dungeons and strip clubs, however). Rest assured, The Alphaville Herald will be there in force, reporting on and participating in the event.
