Interview with Mr-President

In this interview conducted by Montserrat Tovar, Mr-President defends himself from the allegations by The Teflon Don that he enlisted the Soprano family for help with his elections. He also defends his remark that Ashley left the debates earlier to watch the Sopranos. He suggests that there are important ideological differences between him and Ashley, claiming that she “discourages people from taking things seriously” contending that people should take things just as seriously as they want: “it’s not her place to tell people how they should play.”

montserrat: thank you, mr-president for taking time to talk with the av herald today. i’m very pleased to have this opportunity
mr_president: Thanks for having me Ms. Tovar.
montserrat: the pleasure is all mine. i wonder if i could start by asking you a few questions about the primaries, and the upcoming elections?
mr_president: Sure?
montserrat: there have been reports from the sim liberation army that the sopranos rigged the election. what do you know about a) the sla and b) these rigged election reports?
mr_president: Well the SLA has been around for some time now. I know about the name, but little of what they do. About the election rigging.. It’s true that I did contact JC Soprano. Only to get technical advice on such things as how to prevent cheating in an online ballot. Now that was for the Presidential election on April 10th..
montserrat: i see. did the sopranos provide anything in the way of security, protection etc for you or your party?
mr_president: The Primaries that ran earlier.. I counted all the votes personally, no outside help with that.
mr_president: The talks between JC and I didn’t go any further.. He didn’t have a hand in the Primaries, and is not going to have a hand in the final elections.
montserrat: ok. what do you make of reports from the Teflon Don that final elections will be rigged?
montserrat: let me pull the quote
montserrat: quote:All this makes one wonder… Jinjo was running for President and did not make it past the primaries and the President was running the election site. He was an Armone. Did Ashley truly win the Primaries? If the President is re-elected, was it a fair election? All these questions will now probably linger in all of our minds. Maybe this was the government corruption the new CIA Director was talking about in his press release. Either way this will hurt the Presidents reelection campaign. I wonder if that matters though. montserrat: [another quote] I recently received a tip from a group calling themselves the Sim Liberation Army (SLA for short they said, like that mattered). They said that they had received some information that the Soprano family had rigged the primary elections and were set to rig the final elections about to come up. With the release of the New York Times article in regards to the Alphaville Government elections, this is surely a scandal that will rock the AV Gov and all those who either didn’t make it to the primaries, or are hoping to become President in the coming election.
montserrat: from av herald
mr_president: I can honestly say that the Primaries were fair. I counted each vote personally. I was completely unbiased in who advanced in the Primaries. Jinjo is a friend of mine. Jason Sim is a friend of mine, that also works in AVG.
Seth Galloway and I became friends during the Primaries.
montserrat: in your opinion, how will ashley’s leaving the debate early affect the election?
mr_president: I met Ashley when I wanted to put together a “Girls of Alphaville” calendar with her modeling agency. Well, her leaving the debate early is not necessarily a bad thing. If she lied about it, it could be. If you need to go watch the Sopranos, go watch.. but don’t lie about it. You know? ( Not saying she lied about it, just making a point. )
montserrat: yes of course. but the early end to the debate left some sims wondering if there was still more discussion to be had — will there be another opportunity for debate in the future?
mr_president: With it being so close to the elections, there might not be..
But I’m always available and willing to take and answer questions.

montserrat: of course. but do you think that sims want an opportunity to hear you respond to one another?
mr_president: Yes, in fact.. After the debate that night, I headed over to the Oprah Show. Packed again. People asking questions sim to sim.
montserrat: will you offer ashley another opportunity to debate
mr_president: We tried to get a hold of Ashley for that show. I’d love to debate one more time. mr_president: David Pierce did an excellent job of hosting the previous one, agree?
montserrat: of course. would he host it again?
mr_president: I could ask him? I’m not sure what his personal schedule is like.
montserrat: do you consider ashley a serious threat to your candidacy?
mr_president: A threat? .. I wouldn’t say that. I just think that her proposals aren’t really going to help as much as she thinks they will.
montserrat: this is the last question then, if you like, you can make a final statement. i don’t want to use too much of your time. if you could tell me where you think the big divide is between your ideas and hers
mr_president: Our big divide that I’m really beginning to see is that she discourages people from taking things seriously. “It’s just game” she shouts while doing the Wang Chung..
mr_president: But it’s not her place to tell people how they should play. I really think she wants AVG to unite and run all businesses, where I on the other hand support the individual and small businesses.
montserrat: thank you, mr-president for your time. is there anything else you’d like to say to the community here?
mr_president: Vote April 10th! Look at both candidates first, see what they’re all about, look at their issues. Don’t vote because you think I’m cute, or you like Ashley’s hair, lol.
