TSO boycott petition making rounds

by Alphaville Herald on 27/04/04 at 5:55 pm

This online petition (http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?Qd3d&1) may have gone up a while ago, but it only just came to our attention (thanks to Mr-P for the pointer). It is, in effect, a protest of the $10/month fee for the online game. The reasoning in the petition is more or less nonexistent and the language is barely literate, but the point seems to be that the price is too high — and unfairly so. Of course it costs money to keep servers running, but alternative business models might have allowed TSO to keep the cost down or even nonexistent (e.g. by selling game currency and objects directly to the users). About 2,700 signatures have been added thus far. As is often the case, YMMV. This comes on the heels of the petition protesting the elimination of tagging, which currently has 589 signatures.

This petition is void like the other one. Apart from your already mentioned fact that a 10 yr old probaly wrote it and it lacks any clear reasoning what so ever, It is totally unrealistic and the creator has no clue what they are talking about. And lets not forgot that 40-50% or more signatures are probaly spammed by a smaller number of people using a different name each time.
