As founders and other “hard core” players continue to leave TSO, Sandra from Dan’s Grove has made a very touching video expressing the sadness inherent in seeing all of her friends leave for other MMORPGs – There, Lineage, SWG, WoW, etc. This video is a MUST VIEW for everyone who plays TSO or is interested in the nature of online communities. The link is http://www.simfriends.org/~sandra/stayanotherday.wmv. If you don’t have the software to watch it, download it!

It’s a great video, I saw it before and Sandra is indeed talented.

As more and more online games come about it’s harder and harder for TSO with it’s lack of content, lack of fun to keep and maintain players, TSO is a great vitural chat room, but thats all it has become, and it’s up to the individual if they want to pay 10 bucks a month to chat, some do though and they will probably stay till they pull the plug.

I gave up on it as everyone I knew started just dropping out of the game, most just stopped playing, others did go to other games, which I finally did as well.

Just one example of the tremendous pool of talent and creativity that was playing TSO waiting for custom content or some way of expressing their creativity in the game. Ultimately the story of TSO will be the moves within EA/Maxis to block the introduction of custom content, and its failure to recognize the importance of free and creative gameplay. Seriously, it makes me physically ill to think about it. There is a spot in the inner circle of Dante’s Inferno waiting for those scumbags.

That was awesome. I have had so many friends come and go. I have let for two months and came back. Recently I thought about leaving for another game. Ill give it a second thought after seeing that. It touched me. I am bored however.

All of my original friends have left the game, and it’s sadder that I forgot who they were. It would be different if I kept in contact them. I will tell you why…TSO is just a huge chatroom anyways, so it would be no different talking to them on Yahoo Messenger, then Billy Bob’s Skill house. But TSO still arouses my attention, because, Sims find someway to have fun, even with the lack on content. AVG, Scammers, Griefers, and hackers actually do make the game fun and more challenging. Trying to stop the scammers and hackers has become a duty to some, thus keeping them in game. I don’t want to get to off the subject, but I think the Bradleys think, they are playing the role of the evil “hackers”.

Wow, that’s a kickass video! It makes me sad. I didn’t realize how many people are leaving. Could this be the end of TSO? :*(

That was very touching. I have left a couple times and I always come back. Boredom sets and in the game I get in a rut. I want to stay…but., That video makes me think also. I miss my friends terribly. I left for two months and everything had changed every one I knew but a handful were gone. That was a great video! I think everyone should see it. And I think everyone should have fun :) And stay in the game :)

What a great contribution that video is… is captures the horrible feeling I have every time I lose a friend on TSO.

I think it is only a matter of time before EA will shut down TSO which is a terrible shame… if only they had put some effort into TSO… it would still be going strong.

I’ve tried There, Second Life and some others… I don’t know where I will end up, but I will miss all the wonderful people I met in TSO.

I would like to add my 2 cents.

A very nice video. It personifies what is happening in TSO very well. I played the game back in June-October of last year. I eventually left beacuse it got boring, as well as financial issues. I recently paid for one more month to see if anyone I know is still on, but they have all left for other games long ago. I’ll probably end up leaving after May as well.

Unless Maxis/Electronic Arts can shape up and begin to offer good content to match those of other online games, I doubt that it will remain up for very long. It is very sad, TSO has so much it can be, however, it has been allowed to deterioate .

I am a short-time TSO player (under 60 days) and I was blown away by the video. As a matter of fact, I have been thinking the same things — why am I paying for this, what is the point, this is really boring, etc. Usually what happens is that I log on, go to a skill house, put a weight on my enter key, and then go do other things in RL. But what’s the point? Everyone else is doing the same thing, it seems, if they’re there at all. There’s never anyone to talk to. I was struck by the fact when I first came on that everyone I met was either a founder, semi-founder, or a newbie. There’s no in-between hardly. There’s nothing to keep new people in the game.

I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. As I have not really made any close friends in TSO, it wouldn’t be that hard to switch to another game, I just hate losing the time I have invested in this one…

that is the thing that hits you about tso. it is exquisitely boring. it is like the designers were so excited about the avatars that they forgot to get them to do anything.

I star in that video :) It is a Sad thing and Sandra made it when she was leaving (she’s back now) she made it as a goodbye gift to all her friends although it does hold some truth it does not fully hold truth a lot of those sims featured in that video would never leave without a fight. and me well I make my part of the movie!

I watched the video..and I realize, towards the end of my TSOing days thats how I felt..seeing all my friends go to various games..

L2, SL, There, SWG, and FFXI..It was to hard on me to not have friends that I have had for well over a year around me daily as I sit on this computer and play an online game..

What I did to attempt to solve this was make sure that I have another mean of connection with them…phone #’s or yahoo mssngr..

For the most part, minus a few, I have the same group of ppl that were around me for 356 days in TSO, now in SWG…

For those that I couldnt get in contact with, and on the offchance that you read this, Im leaving my yahoo ID..PLEASE contact me =)
