Miss Alphaville Contest Narrows Field to 6 Finalists

Our friend and former AVG presidential candidate Ashley Richardson has taken a sabbatical from politics but is back in Alphaville, helping to run the Miss Alphaville Competition. Last night the field of contenders was whittled down to the following 6: ‘Sugar, Nataleigh, DJ Lizziey Ray, Marilyn Monroe-, Charlize Theron’, and Beyonce’. The prize for the winner is thus far unspecified, but the competitors were hoping for a dream date with Uri. I could not be reached for comment.

This pageant was a flop. Most of the winners either had famous names, or the same head that Ashley Richardsons sim has. The interview questions were all different for each girl and some of them that showed a biased opionion. EX: Charlize Theron, how do you handle all of the attention from your fans, being so beautiful?(She has Ashley’s head also)This type of interview question is not appropriate for a fair pageant. It is clearly showing the opinions of the judge and how beautiful Ashley thinks her sim head is. But hey, its all in fun right? We can’t really take these things too serious can we? Its not like this is a real pageant.

Man, I think it is too funny that some of you just can’t seem to take a joke. My interview question was meant to be a sarcastic joke, and apparently some people missed it. Everyone there knew that she was only joking when she kept saying my head was beautiful. Oh well, there’s always going to be someone saying something’s not fair, so whatever. I think that is just hilarious.

I personally enjoyed the contest, maybe I am a little biased because I made it to the top 6. Plus, I felt that I was given a perfect question for a pageant..I also thought most of the questions asked were appropriate pageant questions. Anyways…I thought the pageant went well and anyone who may object is entitled to their opinion. I look forward to finals!

What do gay sims have to do with a beauty pagent? lol. Why do you have to do anything for them?
Agreed with Ian about free hostings sites being shit. But this is only a tempory project, so it don’t matter.
Anything lasting more than say 2 months should get a real domain however. And if you want to at least make a site that looks pro, then *plug* Homestead *plug* is really great

Right Marilyn, you were given the perfect question, buts thats not so for everyone esle. Face it, they already knew who they were going to pick from the jump. So its no need to even discuss it anymore. And also during the first prelims some people left early and they end up picking 2 sims instead of three like they were suppose to. Then when Ashley was asked, why she wouldn’t just pic one more person, she said that all their favorites had left.(Kids I tell you) Furthermore, the sim “Sugar” who left early was picked rather than being disqualified. Now tell me is this justice?

I think the pagent came off perfectly. The only thing was that there was a lot of talking backstage and a bit of lag, other than that everything was great!

I think everyone is taking this Pagent wayyy to serious. Come on people it’s just a freakin game get over it! Just enjoy the damn show and get on with whatever your doing. Anyone that doesn’t agree with me then that’s just too bad isn’t it?

I competed in rl pageant for a while, and it IS fun when you win.. and it does stink when you don’t b/c you put a lot of effort into getting where you are. For the 1st preliminary, unfortunatley a contestant with perfect 10′s had to leave b/c of a family emergency – We do not hold that against her, and since only 2 of the finalists that remained knew how to actually walk the runway, we choose them. I enjoyed the prelims, and I wish everyone the best of luck in the final pageant!

Ashley, I have seen your picture and I have no difficulty seeing you as having won beauty contests and done modeling in real life. And with my background, I’m a far better judge of these things than are your detractors in this thread.
Regarding online voting, I have AOL and it is a known fact that often you can’t vote in things if you are on AOL – something about it being a “proxy” or something like that, I think. I know that I can almost never vote in the Stratics polls because of that. Although sometimes I can, so it is hard to understand why it works the way it does, not letting you vote most of the time, then sometimes letting you. Most of the time, I can’t no matter how many times I try.
It is not uncommon for AOL users to have difficulty voting in online polls. You really need to factor in this known phenomenon before concluding that only fraud could explain why AOL users couldn’t vote on something.

Hi Everyone. I was just reading some of your comments, and I’m glad that you all wrote back and wrote your own different view points about the pageant Ashley and I hosted this past weekend. I think everyone did a great job, and its just another “game experience” that builds you up to become a better sim person!

Actually, I think someone who doesn’t spend half their time complaining about a virtual beauty pageant is the one who has no life, not me. This could never happen for you in RL LMAO that was the funniest damn thing I’ve seen all day. They’ve run out of things to say, so now they try to insult your real life. This is pathetic. Hmmmm. Real life pageants are bad enough, but a virtual pageant, boy now I know what kind of people make up this world. It is 2004 and women need to stop utilizing their “so-called beauty” to make them feel good about themselves. It is really pathetic. Especially when all the women look and act exactly the same…what happened to being original and being oneself?
