SSU: “We are damn proud of trashing the Capitol”

In an official press release from Co-overlord Ian, the Simulated Soviet Union has taken credit for trashing the Alphaville Government Capitol. In addition, Ian attempts to explain the idiological basis of the SSU:
“At SSU, we do roleplay as Soviets. However, a common misconception is we roleplay as Joseph Stalin and his contemporaries. WE DO NOT. We are just taking the loyalty, discipline, leadership idea, with the disciplinary actions. You could say we are roleplaying the Soviet Union, in it?s failing years. But we do NOT promote or encourage communism or any type of genocide. We love the United States and proud to live in this country. We despise Michael Moore, and love freedom.”
It’s official: our educational system has failed us.

I have decided to explain what SSU is and stands for. Many have questioned us and our actions, and go ahead and rant that we are terrible people, who represent terrible things. Please, I ask you to read this letter, because, perhaps it will clear up many questions and harsh feelings you may have for the Simulated Soviet Union. I understand that you may be distraught because the name includes Soviet in it, however I do clear that up in the letter. Thank you, Sir.
The Simulated Soviet Union (SSU) has been around much controversy around Alphaville, The Alphaville Herald, and The Alphaville Times. Many have taken our name to mean much different than what we stand for, and hope to achieve. Let me clear things up. I roleplay as Sir in game, as the Co-Overlord of the SSU. Fans, roleplays as the Overlord of the SSU. We are both leaders, that hope to achieve certain goals. We want to bring down the Alphaville Government, for the mess they got into and obviously can?t get themselves out of the hole that they dug. When the SSU began (I will not go threw our history, just visit this part of the website for it), we were basically a protest against member harassment and irresistibility of top AVG figures. We complained, and yes bitched and moan for some action to take course. Instead, we were mocked and laughed at. When the SSU took its first steps, yes we did trash some houses, of AVG opertives. Let me make this extremely clear; we have not and will not trash any innocent houses. We are here to make a stand that AVG was run by a lazy, non-caring leader. At SSU, we will not tolerate any disrespect, harassment, or disloyalty by our employees. If anyone gets out of line, we will talk to them first, and then we will take further action if needed.
Now about the recent allegations of the recent Capital Trashing. Yes, we did gain enterance. Yes, we did trash it. And, yes, we are damn proud of it. Trashing the Capital was basically putting the stake threw the heart of AVG. We would like to note, that SSU is enemies with Mr-President, but friends with the RL Arthur Baynes, who is the sim behind Mr-President. Mr-President, as we have noted before, is a corrupt, lazy politician (well what politician isn?t?). But we would like to thank all AVG employees, a good job in what they did. We take pride in the leadership and loyalty they showed, but as anything, all good things eventually come to and end. We invite all AVG employees to join us, by August 5th, 2004, by 4AM EST. Yes, this is an ultimatum. All employees and personnel, who have not joined by then, will never be allowed to become an SSU employee. NO EXEPTIONS.
Finally, SSU is named ?commies”, ?a mafia”, and various other names. We are not a mafia, if anyone knows me I have made it clear several hundred times, I despise mafias, trust me, we are not one. We are here for the better of Alphaville. The SSU wants to bring down all types of ?power oriented? governments/mafias/gangs who just want to ?own? Alphaville. At SSU, we do roleplay as Soviets. ROFL! SSU, just another mafia… because instead of AVG who amazingly succeeded in having virtual elections and creating a virtual little capital, SSU will not be able to do such a thing. Nobody in AV admires SSU, except their own members and you will not be able to make any kind of lasting impression in AV except maybe for a negative one. You will not be able to muster hundreds of people to vote. You will not be able to create a real minitown the scope of AVG did.
Good luck thinking otherwise and have fun with all the little brats thinking you are a big evil guild which they can join to trash lots and harrass other people.

The Michael Moore comment was pun with Urizenus’ comment about he is God. Geesh. You people are so ignorant about this, that I ain’t laughing. I don’t think Ian or his lackies are out to really do anything significant on TSO…they’re probably just looking to pass the time like all of us. He wants to be part of a group – group = power, right Ian? It always amazes me what some people are willing to do just to gain acceptance – these sacrifices usually equate to their downfall. It does bother me how quickly they step behind the ‘innocence’ of ‘just roleplaying’, but that’s someone else’s poor parenting they’ll have to own.
On a side note: sounds like Fans has life figured out pretty well also. God I miss those days!

I had a conversation with Ian regarding my court case against Chad Thomas, and eventually I got on the topic of SSU.
I told him it was a bad move to promote something with such a negative public opinion. I told him it wasn’t smart to go about trashing properties to get what you wanted. And yet, I was entirely ignored.
Ian, Fans: You guys understood the implications of starting a group like this. You did it anyway, which leads me to one big question… why?
The answer couldn’t be simpler. You despised the AVG. Don’t try to mask this organization with “we’re trying to make AV better.” This organization was founded for the sheer purpose to ruin the AVG, and it has been the ONLY thing it has done since its founding. Rather than truly trying to do something to help the community, you got a giant gang together to beat up the only organization that is actually doing something relatively good for the community.
Ian, in the past you have called me “buddy-buddy” with Mr-President. I would like to clear this up. My goal, as it has been from day one, is to see that Alphaville is the best city it can be. Mr-President has created an organization that has fulfilled a need in Alphaville. He has given the community something to be proud of. If someone else had done that, I would have been equally supportive of them. Regardless of whether he plays 24-7 like you do Ian, at least he puts all of his energy to try and make this game a better place.

Perhaps he still is right. While many mafias run on the principle of hate, mafias still do have some form of loyalty where we don’t have to bribe our members with 25k to move objects. Unfortuantely, it seems to me that the SSU is not sophisticated enough to call itself a mafia. A mafia, at least, EMBRACES and ACCEPTS the fact that it gets it power through hate – via trashing houses and “hitting” people, aka hacking if necessary depending on some mafias. The SSU, on the other hand, claims to hate mafias and hate lethargy. If you hate laziness, why are you trying to steal power? If you decided to STOP being lazy and actually ESTABLISH power and EARN respect for yourself instead of taking it in a coup, perhaps youd be more successful. In fact, your trying to steal this power just proves how successful Mr. Pres has truly been.
There are democracies, theocracies.. and in this case there are hypocricies.
