New Look for the Herald

by Alphaville Herald on 15/12/04 at 11:01 pm

Yeah the bitching has already started, and there are a lot of bugs to work out and this new format is really not ready for prime time, but.. history marches on. Let’s just say that I have my reasons, and, well, I like this look a lot better. And the administrators tools are nicer. But lots of problem, and the new domain is propagating slowly, so please be patient. One thing I have done is introduce new categories, and am going through the archives to recategorize every post. New categories (not fully indexed) include Clubs, Casinos, and Events; Currency Traders and Gold Farmers, and of course Sex and Cybersex. Oh yeah and also Gossip and Dramma! I also wanted to say thanks for all the support. Yesterday we had 2,500 unique IP hits here, thanks in part to this article in El Mundo, but so far this December we are averaging well over 10oo unique hits per day. Not bad considering what this is — a blog about a video game.

Uri, I’m getting used to the new design of the SLH.

I am wondering, however: is the right side of the site supposed to be all white? It seems so… empty.

yeah that’s what it looks like if you have a broad screen. on my screen its a full screen. If I put in a right column I think it would be pushed down to the bottom.

It will take a bit getting used too, but I am fimiliar with WP (www.alphavillegazette.com). It is an easy and awsome publishing system. The entries come up instantly, rather than in a minute+ with MT. Nice move, Prof.

It also looks to be much better equipped to deal with spam, so I should be able to keep comment sections open longer. should.
