This evening, I attended the innaugural fashion show of the Bella Donna models group of the island of Mirage. This show was advertised as having 20 new wedding designs by the marvelous designer Zelinna Jacques, who is known for her wonderful prim dresses. Though the show faced many problems, the presentation was still decent, but they certainly can get better.

My first surprise when I arrived at the fashion show was the layout of the runway. It was certainly not a typical runway in the slightest bit, but looked a bit like a sunburst with the points connected or a wagon wheel with water, grass, and swans in between the spokes. It is a very elegant and unique look created by black and white marble with accents in gold and water.

The designs of this show were all gorgeous, in my opinion. Some of them could have been done better, but Zelinna truely worked her magic with all 20 of these. It’s a shame that I can’t feature all of them in this review, but space is limited! The first outfit that I wish to highlight is the lovely “Classic Elegance” dress modeled by Wiccan Sojourner (pic to follow). The cream and white top with black ribbon accents flows perfectly into the black prim skirt that any woman could wear to a wedding. The black is perhaps not right for this to be a bridesmaid’s dress, but it is gorgeous nonetheless.

The second outfit that I want to highlight is Babyblues modeling the “Garden” wedding dress, accompianied by Divivity’s matching bouquet. This isn’t my absolute favorite because the texture on the bottom layer of the prim skirting is very pixelated and grainy. Other than that, though, this dress is extremely gorgeous and would suit a wedding in a garden anywhere in SecondLife.

The next outfit that I’m going to profile is Queenie Extraordinaire modeling the “Velicia” wedding dress. When I saw her walk out on the runway in that, I believe I stopped breathing for around 15 seconds or so. This dress is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous! Zelinna must be a prodigy with prims, because I’ve never seen anything like this in SecondLife. The matching bouquet by Divivity is the perfect accent to make the wedding a success.

Finally, I’m going to profile the dress that Daphne Molinari is shown wearing above, the name of which I can’t remember (sorry! chat history disappeared when I crashed soon after the show). This dress is absolutely GORGEOUS! I so wish that I had the $L to go shopping in Zelinna’s store for this and all the other dresses, but sadly, writing isn’t the most advantageous profession. I suppose I’ll have to just watch and drool all over myself.

Though the outfits were gorgeous, there were quite a few bumps with the presentation of them. Models were (I assume) relogging and appearing on the stage instead of backstage. Tops weren’t rezzing properly. Models were running into the invisible walls left and right. One model even got stuck on the runway, but reacted well considering. They do certainly need to do some work, but with these designs, it’s hard to make them look bad.
