Hammie talks to the Metaverse Superior Court

There is a good interview with Hamlet Linden and the two principle judges of the Metaverse Superior Court (formerly the Second Life Superior Court). Among the points they make is that their approach is to develop legal authority in a bottom-up manner — adjudicating cases and gradually developing the trust of virtual citizens. This contrasts with the idea that law can only be imposed in a top-down manner, as when a sovereign imposes laws by force. Lots of other noteworthy ideas in there too.
