Australian Tabloid Discovers Second Life

by Alphaville Herald on 18/04/06 at 10:05 am

In his continuing campaign to suck up to the Herald, wannabe media mogul Rupert Murdoch has directed his Australian tabloid, the Courier Mail, to do a long feature about Second Life. Former Herald correspondent Neal Stewart warns SLers to “duck and cover if they hope to weather the thunder from Down Under” as thousands of new Aussie residents pour into the world trying to find a prim shrimp to throw on the barbie. G’Day!

The Courier Mail…heh! What a rag.

    >>I don’t know why I lied. “I’m a carpenter.”

Most likely because he was a journalist?

Totally misses the point with his implication at the end that RL is better with his smug “:)” comment. Duh! We all know that…but then we all use mail, fax, phone, pagers, email, irc, web forums etc etc to communicate with and develop relationships do we not?

Typical of the Courier Mail though…it always runs stories that reinforce the brisburg local yokal’s small minded opinions of anything that comes from outside the “Smart State”. [yes, the Courier Mail is the local rag of Queensland, which brands itself as the "Smart State"....]
