SL Classifieds Hit the Web — Kinda

by Alphaville Herald on 05/04/06 at 12:14 pm

As announced yesterday in this forum posting, the Classifieds section of the SL in-world interface is now available on the Web. There’s not a lot of functionality to it at this point — no search, no ability to purchase items. All it allows you to do is browse a sequential list of the various categories, then go to a SLurl page that brings you directly to the vendor in-world. So it’s unclear why exactly LL spent any time on this. (The Love Machine?) It seems that resident-created solutions will always outpace what’s happening within LL in this area; there’s far more incentive for vendors to create excellent commerce applications than there is for LL, at this point.
