ADVERTISEMENT: More Second Life Millionaires?

So I happened by a forum the other day which struck me as being really unique. TalkSecondLife.com is perhaps the only forum where networking and knowledge is shared about making money in-world. From reading the posts, it appears that a few businesses have been started by their members. There’s some really good information for members (it’s free) on starting businesses and running businesses in-world. Who knows: Anshe may even be a poster in sheeps clothing on there! So this brings me to the question: How many Second Life Millionaires are there?

That’s interesting. I interviewed Joshua Nightshade last night for this article I’m writing, and he indeed averred that Anshe is not only not the ONLY second life millionaire, but she’s not even the first.

    Hmmmm

An article in the Australian press has Adam Zaius claim that he just reached his first US million, too. I think the people who makes games, pose balls, clothing — the highest end and most-often purchased content — probably make more money even than Anshe, and without having to worry about liquidating all the time and trying to cash out.

Prokofy, if you mean the article in Computerworld, then it was a million A$ not US$ – altho I bet Adam wishes it was US$ :-)

It’s always seemed to me that property development is the way to making big moolah in SL. I’d be really interested in talking to those who make the smaller-value, high volume items, to see what kind of income can be generated that way.

Thanks for the link to TalkSecondLife – I’ll spend some time reading the advice.

A good place to start on the smaller items/big volume rounds is GuRl 6. Six Kennedy now has her own sim and runs 40k traffic with nothing but hair and a few clothes, at any given time, her sim has more than clubs. And with her items, there is something new, every few days, with a few different items. She, in most weeks, comes close to putting out new hairstyles everyday.

Another one that comes to mind is Image Reflections.

I’m not saying that they are the best evar(!11!), but I have seen people there constantly, and both move to thier own sims to handle traffic and sales, GuRl 6 more recently than Image Reflections.

P.S. Her hair in single packs of 4 colors comes for 195, defintely not a deal maker or breaker for most of us, but if you stand for 30 minutes to watch, almost every single person in there, has bought up some more hair. I wouldn’t venture to guess what she makes, but it isn’t small change.

Hmmm, dare I say it, but the people in SL worth knowing more about, IF you can track them down, aren’t the SL made millionaires, but the RL ones… That’s to say people who have made it outside SL, possibly even before SL was dreamed of.

It’s a good place to start. I registered and received some good info on biz building. There appears to be quite a few business owners and others looking for financing/ land rentals/ partnerships. Might be a really good place for connections… I guess we’ll see.
