Ms. Weber establishes new Herald Editorial Policy.
Urizenus Sklar and Walker Spaight today announced the sale of the Second Life Herald, its intellectual property and in game assets to Aimee Weber Studios in exchange for $50,000 US. The deal, apparently struck at the Virtual Worlds 2007 conference, will certainly raise questions about media consolidation in the Second Life blogosphere, but will also be wildly applauded in some circles. In an official announcement, Aimee said that she looked forward to making the Herald a “funner, more positive” news source. Reached for comment by this reporter, Urizenus Sklar said “it’s her headache now.” Walker Spaight said that he had second thoughts about the deal but that it was time to move on to new projects. Managing Editor Pixeleen Mistral took the occasion to announce her retirement. Prokofy Neva could not be reached for comment.

Oh, and on a more personal note, it’s very nice to be a part of this relentless media consolidation.
Sure, my time is going to be stretched a bit thin, so quality might suffer, but it’s not like anyone’s going to notice.
Pixeleen? Get me a coffee and line Moriash up for a meeting, on your way out. We’re buying Plywood next.

Was so happy to hear of Pixeleen’s retirement until I realized that today is April Fool’s Day. I suspect her unique brand of yellow journalism will continue.

Well you had me going till I saw the 50,000 us price tag. This “national enquier” of sl is not even worth 50,000L. Maybe if it was even close to a real paper instaed of a gossip rag and a place for some to vent spitful comment (re: teshia) in the name of jornalism you could get “maybe” 5,000L but nothing more.

Oh you know… it’s a good joke on SL Herald for bringing that “idea” up to fool people… but that tells me that the Herald “was” thinking about selling it away to someone else to fix it up.
I’m sure it will be a real good joke for us if that actually happened.

Sorry Debora, I should keep in mind that over half our readers are outside the United States and may not know about April Fools Day. Plus some nuances can be hard to pick up in a second language. Next year you’ll be ready.
