Pixel Sumo is having it’s Summer Grand Basho on Monday, 27 August at 6 am, 2 pm and 8 pm at Artificial Isle (174, 89, 26). The basho is three events spread over one day to allow maximum participation by SL citizens around the world. This is the fourth grand basho in this sport’s nearly 1 1/2 year existence.

The sport is a simple yet challenging one – two competitors stand on a 6m disk and try to push the other off and try not to get pushed off themselves. No jumping, flying or scripted anything is allowed. Full rules and information can be found at the Pixel Sumo Banzuke: http://pixelsumobanzuke.blogspot.com.

Pixel Sumo conducts regular matches weekly – but grand basho events have much higher prizes. The champion of each event will receive L$ 500 and runner-up will receive L$250. In each event, competitors will face each other once and the wrestler with the best win record is declared champion.

Competitors may only participate in one of the three events of the grand basho. At the end of the day, a grand champion and runner-up will be declared based on best performances of the day. Grand champion will receive L$2,000 and runner-up will receive L$1,000.

The stakes have never been higher and we hope this will bring more people than ever before to try Pixel Sumo.

Pixel Sumo moved to Artificial Isle in June 2007 and we thank ZATZAi Asturias for her continued hosting of our sport. We will also hold special demonstration matches at Second Life Community Convention on Sunday, 26 Aug at 2pm.
