Iris Seale – Post 6 Grrrrl

Who the hell is Iris Seale, you may wonder? I have a brand in SL, Punch Drunk, and I blog over at Shopping Cart Disco with my best friend in-game, Tenshi Vielle. OK, we got the self-promo out of the way quick, so let’s get on with this.
Most of my time in SL is spent doing fashion things. I’m constantly uploading textures and making things for fun. When I’m not doing that, I’m hanging out with Tenshi and our friends doing insanely random things. I’m currently in the middle of designing my fall line, which is inspired by “Polaroid Stories”, a play by Naiomi Iizuka.
Theatre plays a huge part in my life. In my real life, I’m a double-major in Theatrical Costume Design and Theatre History. When I originally came to SL, a friend had told me that all content, including clothing, was user-created. I envisioned using it as a platform to see my costume renderings in a 3D space, which I did for a while. In case anyone’s wondering, my Sunny and Got A Date? dresses were both designed for a production of “Disney’s High School Musical’ at my school. Now I see SL as a way to design the things I’ve always wanted to do unconstricted by the requirements of characters.
I’d really like to thank Justine for having me pose for Post Six. I’ve always looked forward to reading about the outstanding people featured here and I’m so honored to be featured myself. Also, a quick shoutout to all my friends and the fellow designers who’ve helped me learn how to use that tricky thing called Photoshop. I love you guys!
