Residents Hail 24×7 Linden Hair Presence In-World

Exclusive interview with Walker Linden’s hairpiece
by Mariner Trilling
As Linden Lab reduces in-world support, a new presence service offers the citizens of Second Life twenty-four hour access to the game gods, or a partially rezzed Linden anyway. Amongst the stately Linden builds in the heart of the mainland lying on the ground in the serene Hawkshead forest is Walker Linden’s hair.
I first encountered the hair while exploring the pastoral forest scene in Hawkshead. I quickly made a search of the surrounding area to see if there were any other Linden parts lying around but found nothing. One can imagine how traumatized a newbie would be to stumble upon a severed Linden penis. The worst case scenario would be a scripted penis that responds to the unknowing click. Upon inspection, I found the hair belongs to Walker Linden, a copywriter for Linden Labs.
Some citizens ask, “Why is it here? What does it what?” But it provides the average avatar a chance to interact on a personal level with some of the people behind Second Life. Here is a portion of an exclusive interview with the hair.
Mariner Trilling: Many SL citizens are concerned that Linden Labs is focusing on adding features to SL rather than focusing on operational stability and scalability. Is there any progress being made in addressing these concerns?
Linden Hair: silence, slight movement in the breeze.
Mariner Trilling: Oookay…In trying to take control of all in-world content, Linden Labs has now been saddled with legal responsibility for all in-world content. Are there any plans that Linden Labs will reverse this and support Second Life merely as an internet platform rather than a ‘virtual experience’?
Linden Hair: silence
A newbie flying overhead lands to peek at me and the hair through the trees. Seeing no naked girls or camping chairs he flys away.
Mariner Trilling: As SL grows, the level of commerce is escalating. What is Linden Labs doing to ensure the security of the grid and protect the SL economy from potential fraud?
Linden Hair: silence
My interview with the hair made it clear that the hair’s role in-world was less an informational feature and more of an artistic outlet for the citizens – or perhaps an SL tribute to Hans Hoffman. The 10 minute autoreturn in the area allows people to express themselves creatively with the hair. Be sure to send your artistic pictures of Walker Linden’s hairpiece to the Herald.
Remember, it’s “your hair, your imagination”.

I like “Steve”, yeah. I’d even like to have a Steve t-shirt. Anybody selling those?

You know, I’ve seen that same hairstyle and color get left behind when other people were wearing it. Odd.
