Your Second Life

by Kris Dibou, warrior poet/pirate
Come writers and artists, designers and geeks;
Builders and gamers, lovers and freaks;
Those whose dreams have been trampled and burned;
The hated, the ugly, the crippled, the spurned.
Come now all people from all walks of life;
From every nation, come husband and wife.
Come singles and widows, come partners who bide
In small apartments or houses and ride
Into the cities to toil through the day
Or those still at home looking to play.
There is a place where you can still dream
And bring in to life what you could have been.
Shed your old body, no need to die
And for a few dollars live life and try
All of the things they said you can’t do;
Now is your chance, your reward, now is due.
There is a place, they let you in free
Where all can be beautiful if that’s what you need;
The lame may now walk, the bald may have hair;
The deaf can see voices floating in air
Here is your chance, now is the time;
A computer connection and you are online.
As a Rolling Stone ventured to say,
“Catch your dreams before they slip away”.
