Maldavius Figtree, notorious for having destroyed builds in the Woodbury University sim last summer, is in the news again this week after his controversial firing of avatar designer Wingless Emoto.
According to reliable sources, Figtree held an suspiciously timed staff meeting last Friday morning – a meeting timed for when Wingless Emoto would be asleep and therefore unable to attend. During this meeting it was determined that the talented avatar creator Emoto was earning too much and should therefore be removed from staff. The terms of service for Figtree’s company, Darkphere Creations, were then conveniently changed, and Miss Emoto was removed from her position, all before she awoke to the news.
Wingless Emoto was also accused of “sitting on her ass” despite the fact that she had been unable to work for a short period of time due to technical malfunctions. Her remaining avatars and creations continued to sell well throughout this period, generating significant real life money for the company. Now that Wingless is gone, Maldavius Figtree is continuing to sell her avatars, refuses to return her creations, and has ceased paying her the commission they had agreed upon.

This isn’t the first time that Maldavius Figtree has been involved in heated debates over ownership of content creation.
Last summer Figtree was contracted to work for Brautigan and Tuck Holdings to script their orientation island in North. When disputes over direction arose between Figtree and BNT CEO, IntLibber Brautigan, Figtree insisted on removing his own creation. It is perhaps ironic that the shoe is not on the other foot today as Figtree continues to sell Emoto’s designs.
Wingless Emoto refuses to be put down by this incident. Others have suggested she form her own company for quite some time, and she sees this new development as an opportunity to do so. Commenting on Figtree, Emoto said, “I always knew he was an ass but this is just low, even for him.”
It remains to be seen how well Figtree’s Darksphere Creations will weather this storm – particularly if public sentiment is roused and consumer boycotts follow.

Maldavius is an ass. Plain and simple, he’s the only person that actually manages to make the JLU and the PN combined look like boy scouts.
He not only destroyed the woodbury sim layout, but he bugged any and every object he could find, or hid objects in the walls to log chats and log who is in a certain location, he does this with many of his creations, he’ll hide scripts in a .010x.010x.010 prim amongst normal prims. He also wrecked other builds he’s been involved with.
He also went as far as enrolling in the real life Woodbury University in an attempt to gain control over the Woodbury Sim that was planned at the time after it got shut down initially. Yes, that’s right folks, he actually went as far as enrolling in a 22k a year school to get control over something in a fake world. He has backstabbed countless people, even harassing people in real life, and getting others to harass them outside of SL until they drop out of existence, one way or another. Has conducted DDoS attacks using http requests from within Second Life (and will more than likely attack this site now) Somehow, he’s managed to skirt past all the ToS violations he’s broken. It’s either because he’s a furry (when he wants to admit to it, he’s like a light switch on this subject, though, given how easily butthurt he gets, anything he says about not being a furry is a lie.)
He was kicked off the Woodbury project due to his unstable and erratic behavior when dealing with other people and vowed “Woodbury will never return” and holed himself up in his two horribly designed sims.
So this isnt, at all, a shock. He doesn’t want people being more successful than him, and chances are he’s pulling out his arsenal on wingless emoto as we speak to completely ruin her, on SL and outside of SL.
Though if the latter affects wingless, her fault for giving him any sort of real info on her.
The part that confuses me is how Maldavius gets away with so much, where other people would get the wrath of the Lindens for much much less (including someone mentioned in a recent article)
I’d also like to note that Maldavius is a former JLU member, and he’s the only person who has pissed off and backstabbed Kalel Venkman and is still on the grid, and isnt being mentioned, which is odd given how hard Kalel fights to destroy others’ credibility so passionately.
This is only part of his rap sheet, and only what I’ve seen and heard about, I’m sure there are plenty of people with their take on him.
In short, he’s an incredibly disturbed person, general jackass and somewhat violent and unstable. The best policy is to not get involved with him at all, do not buy from him, do not hire him for your personal projects, as at the first sign of something not going exactly the way he wants it, he will go off the handle. He does it partly for the money, the rest for the power.

This is not only hypocracy from maldavius, but greed.
Wingless’ avatars were pulling in a lot of cash – managing minimum wage on some weeks, even though half of the profit from each of her avatars sold went to Maldavius.
It seems quite obvious to me that Maldavius has fired her to get his hands on the other half of the cash from her avatar sales.

OMG this is so funny, he wanted to be my business partner, so I took him on board. He did approx 80mins work against my 30hrs and expected to get half the cash. Then when I complained about this, as well as being constantly ignored for 2 weeks he gives me his ‘Do you know how good a scripter I am, how much I’m worth, I make 8000$us a month from sl’ speech. Of course at this stage the alarm bells rang and I quickly hit the delete/silence button. It’s all a shame really, especially as I had a deadline to meet, and this all reflected badly on me. Still it’s not the first time I’ve been ripped like this, so many egos on sl. The thing to remember is if you took SL away from folk like this, they wouldn’t have anything else to shake their matchbox of power at!!

I am glad to see the rest of the grid waking up to what a cancerous evil there is in Maldavius Figtree. Unmentioned in the article is his participation in the destruction of six of my sims after he brainwashed one of my staff into quitting BNT.
The reason he gets away with it: he’s the kid of a noted Blizzard programmer who developed Starcraft, and LL doesn’t want to make waves in the gaming industry. That his own dad thinks he’s a no account loser and wont pay for his education cause academically he sucks ass doesn’t seem to enter into the equation.
Many of the people on the grid he has victimized never file abuse reports against him because he has invented this aura that he has all these “secret linden friends” who would go after anybody who AR’d him. The fact is I’ve been told by persons unnamed (see Maldy, I can do it too, cept this time its for reals), that LL doesn’t listen to anything he says and they know what a danger he is, which is why LL refused to hire him.
I now encourage everybody he’s victimized to mass AR this karmic black hole and do to him what Kalel did to Tizzers.

Maldavius was apparently quite close to his SL business partner in real life, at least before he banned her from his sims, destroyed her reputation, and concocted all manner of absolutely unrepeatable lies about her mental health and her status in her profession. I refused to allow myself to believe these allegations without question, especially when she contacted me asserting that the stories were false. A word to the wise: If Maldavius calls you on Skype, chances are he has some elaborate lie to tell you that he hopes will destroy your objectivity and impartiality and bring you into his way of thinking.
After I began to question this, my estate manager privileges were revoked, allegedly because I was “never in SL”. He banded together with a bunch of his residents and decided that I had “helped people attack the sim”, based on who knows what information. Then he delivered the sledgehammer blow: “no one likes you”. I had seen this before: Maldavius used the same sort of groupthink tactics to sway the weak minds of his furry friends. He used the exact same approach to make Grinn Mannonen’s alt into an enemy of “his” people, as well as his aforementioned business partner, and probably many others. For some reason his words carry an air of authority, and people tend to believe him.
I sold my land cheap and moved to the mainland, as it was obvious that by not being on his team 100%, I had become the enemy. Then I made a secret group about how much he sucked, primarily for the lulz. He got massively butthurt and deleted me from his friends list, although not after engaging in a hilarious conversation with me that was obviously intended to reconciliate truth and lies in his own mind.
Also, if you feel like abuse reporting him, cite this discussion from his Darksphere Creations group chat, on January 20th 2008, regarding Wingless Emoto. The relevant part is the blatant DISCLOSURE at the end of the first portion. The rest is just for your personal enlightenment.

The funniest part is that he keeps making this point that Wingless is being “lazy” and not working. This would be a valid argument if she was paid some kind of salary. Instead, she’s paid a commission at point-of-sale. This means she ONLY GETS PAID FOR WORK SHE HAS ALREADY DONE. In such a situation, there is no reason to “fire” someone for being lazy. Who cares if she wants to stop working, now that 50% of everything she already made is enough money for her right now?
Maldavius always claims that DSC was intended as a means for people interested in working to market their products through, and all he did was provide a front end to the public. If this “business for the workers” is the purpose, why should he care if someone working for him is content with the money thier current products are making all on their own? The only reason he could want her to produce MORE is that he wants more income for himself.. which he then got by FIRING her and taking ALL the money her products make. “Weekly reports” are unnecessary, the vendors record and log all sales, and automatically paid her. The only reason he would want to delay payments and pay them straight from himself would be to take a bigger cut than he was entitled to while lying about how many avatars were actually sold.
I’ve hung out a lot in Darksphere land, though I’ve always decided to stay out of the company because of all the constant drama and bullshit I see within it (and always related to Fagtree). In my time there, I’ve never seen any other “employee” pressured half as much to do more work. If you look in the store, Wingless has more than 40 products for sale, all of which have been created or completely re-worked in the past few months. Of all the other people in DSC I saw with the title “Artisan,” there are maybe two or three products for sale aside from Wingless’ and Maldavius’ own. Were any of these employees fired for not doing their jobs?
On the subject of Maldavius himself and his contributions to the company, there’s a good bit to be said. He doesn’t do much. I’ll admit he’s an accomplished scripter. Or he fakes it rather well. It’s believed by many that, as with many other things he’s taken credit (or payment) for, he copies others’ work and puts it in his own name. With no-mod scripts, there’s no evidence to check this with. He knows how to script, he understands programming. I know for a fact he’s ineffecient as hell with it, though, and I sometimes doubt he could pull off many of the things he does on his own. However he comes about his scripting, whether through copying-and-pasting and fixing things here and there, or writing the occasional thing on his own, they aren’t very marketable and are rarely innovative. Last I saw, he had maybe five products for sale in his own shop, all variants on particle effects. I’ve never seen one bought or used. At all.
It seems the only thing Maldavius contributes to his own company is drama. Whether in the form of slave-driving, manipulation, or sex scandals, his every action seems to hurt his precious company. His employees are constantly being shuffled in and out the door as he fires anyone who disagrees with him for a second on anything, then re-hires them when he realizes he can’t do anything on his own. He has a craving for power that may exceed his ridiculous greed for money. Every chance he gets, he manipulates anyone he can (and he has plenty, he tries to surround himself with weak-minded, submissive, insecure individuals– easy to find in the furry community he immerses himself in).
Much of the drama in his little world centers around his penis. Female employees in his company, as well as any female land-owner on his sims unlucky enough to attract his attention (which isn’t hard, he spends a lot of time spying on people) are invariably subjected to constant sexual harassment. If they refuse his advances, he threatens them. Sometimes he holds their employment over their heads. Sometimes he threatens to reclaim their land. Sometimes he just bans them from the sim. If he has any personal information on them at all, he uses that. However, because he seeks out the weak-willed, submissive, and desperate, many fall to his advances and do the textual nasty with him. He then holds this over their heads as more personal ammunition against them.
An interesting thing to note is -there- he conduts his sexual advances and the resulting furry humpin’. Does he go somewhere private, perhaps a convenient secret mainland plot? Nope. He textfucks right there in Machina, in a dark sphere (fitting, ain’t it?) right there above his main store. By “right there” I mean approximately 700 meters up, but you get the idea. He has a horrible looking wood-textured “apartment” up there, complete with a sex bed he insists is “only for cuddling,” though many can demonstrate otherwise. We’ve all got screenshots. Don’t get too close if you want to take a gander, though, he has a gigantic scanner in the middle of the sphere that teleports anyone home who gets too near. Luckily, draw distance can be set to more than 96m.
God, I could go on and on, but I’ll just throw in one more thing.
He has a fetish for creamsicle-colored huskies. He loves that curly tail.

In my …interactions..with Maldavius Figtree I lost….at least 70$ USD, a good portion of my pride, a good portion of my build, and worst of all…a couple of VERY good friends.
I count myself as lucky that I narrowly escaped handing my work to the bastard… as I now make enough to pay tier off a line of clothes I had originally intended to sell through DSC.
I had always thought that EVERYONE had a little good in them. That no matter how messed up their reasoning EVERYONE was more or less trying to do what they thought was morally correct…*scoffs*……then I met Mal.
When I asked him why so many people disliked him once… he said it was because women go CRAZY after being with him…and, to his credit..I suppose the frantic scrubbing afterward COULD have some sort of detrimental mental effect.

In response to the above I just wanted to point out that I personally have heard this argument from Maldavius before. This equates to Mal declaring,
“I plan on ban/firing …you got a problem with that?”
You answer yes and Mal screams at you for telling him how to run his company, sim, etc.
You answer no and Mal inevitably ban/fires them and tells everyone it was a group decision.
He could really use a pair if you asked me….but then I’ve moved on to greener pastures.

Maldavius is a creep stalking griefer, no question. But of course, Intlibber had no scruples about hiring him back in the day, and deploying him against enemies.
So is the purpose of this article to whitewash Woodbury and Intlibber? Because if so, it’s a fail. The Herald always lurches to extremes, and is never able to say, “a plague on both your houses.”
I really had to wonder what was up at the Concierge party once last year, when Malodorous, as I used to call him, kept standing on my head over and over, right in front of Spike Linden. Spike only laughed. I kept complaining about the griefing, and the Lindens did nothing. Perhaps this theory about the big game industry dad helps explain it. On that day, as on other days, Maldavius was in a coordinated griefing posse with Tizzers, so this idea that he was a cancer, and the blight of Woodbury, is silly, as all of Woodbury itself is the cancer and blight.
BTW, Mr. Pix has now learned from Mal’s griefing tecnique, and tries to stand on my head when at parties too. Very mature behaviour.

It’s be pretty easy to compare this guy and Tizzers, and realise how badly he deserves the permaban, but the biggest difference is that he kisses the asses of too many lindens, maybe yiffs them in that sphere of his, which is probably why he’s still allowed to wander around in sl.
For example, that time when Maldavius and Frontier Linden were “partners” (yiffing ingame, maldy was the woman in the relationship), and when old figtress tried to get Frontier fired after the breakup.

As for now, I offered to buy an av straight off Wingless, she gave me everything, all the avs she had….as I come to find out, she’s doing the same for anyone that wants to buy one.
Darksphere will most likely go under, she’s the only one that had anything worth buying. The rest is just random junk any half ass builder could make or a few thousand others already sell.
Though I admit, i liked the V1 Wolves more than the V2…and the foxes look like their heads are smushed…aside from that, entirely worth the money….but since i got them all free,I Got no complaits

I personaly don’t want to see this happen as it put dear old dad in line of fire. Its not the father that is doing this, its the son. anyway as a buissness trying to keep good terms with the family market they will take notice.

I think the really frustrating part is Mal paints himself out to be the victim in each one of these senarios. I guarentee you he has all ready baaawwwwed about the unfairness of the situation to …..someone…if there is anyone left who is actually stupid enough to listen at this point.

I think the lindons are doing a huge disservice by not permabanning this guy and disolving his company. If they DON’T make an example out of him there will only be more. I’ve seen it happen. Hell, they’ve seen it happen. You’d think they’d learn from their past mistakes.

No kidding, they banned Tizzers Foxchase for much much less, and she was a nice person, not without her flaws.

Has tried to get Lindens fired. Hated by everyone except those who are naive and want to make money. Broken every ToS violation and community standards imaginable. Back-stabbed Kalel Venkman, etc. Has disclosed people repeatedly in his attempts to ruin them, such as providing RL addresses to people within SL of other SL users, has been reported for such actions. Nothing happened.
Tizzers, Human, chills with everyone just because. Cool with everyone, Doesn’t back-stab, only made fun of people who made a huge stink over nothing like Prok and Kalel. Tended to go against the grain in SL, Made a naive mistake by visiting Kalel irl. Banned from SL for vague disclosures on an impossible date. Generally disliked by a lot of people due to hanging with /b/tards and former (reformed) PN. Has been reported on vague things, such as other mods in a group setting group names to something racist when she wasnt on SL for 2 weeks, and was banned right before she came back. and has been banned on “repeated disclosures” based on posting chatlogs with nothing incriminating other than another SL users’ SL name in them. (quick! everyone stop talking to each other!)
Yet Tizzers got permabanned.

Just because they dont fix attachment points or sculpty eyes doesnt mean shit, that’s LL’s laziness. This about when it comes down to dealing with people, on the governance level.
Watch a furry do something that breaks the TOS, watch a “normal” person break them.

Something I often see in other communities as well, and it isnt just the furry lindens, but the fact the lindens know if they ban a furry, about 5000 of his friends (and various sock puppets) will go off on whoever banned their friend. it isnt “bigotry” at all. Hell, I dont know how it’s possible to be bigoted towards a non-existent species or subculture. Furries to me are nothing more than people with a fetish. If you were really animals, you wouldnt be baawwwwing over the internet about your rights. You probably wouldn’t be aware of your existence. You’d be fighting for your lives in nature. Not mingling with people on the internet. Hell, most of us would prefer you fighting it out with nature instead of crying at people about intolerance because they dont want to yiff with you or wear a fursuit.

First of all, Most Lindens are furrys—wtf? Being furry has nothing to do with anything… That’s just annoying to bring up… Second, Mal is a major tard, I saw it a long time ago and nobody believed me. I turned him down for pixel sex and now whenever he sees me he cages/orbits/ and tells whatever griefer friends he’s with that I <3 the penis and I’m a slut. Girls that don’t type sexily to him are sluts. I really don’t want any drama with him- I’m sick of it, it’s why I ignore him whenever I run into him somewhere, or leave. I’m suprised with all of these people against him that more things are not done. The word needs to get out, and DSC must be stopped, this little child does not deserve to make any more money from other peoples creations and customers ignorance. I AR him everytime he griefs me, obviously it does not help but being quiet about it doesn’t help either. but everybody here needs to stop bitching about him and shun him publicly. People are called crazy whenever he doesn’t get his way, he has major control/power issues and more people will get fucked over by him and then they will turn against him, but I think all of the people that are acting like his friend—or being two faced in anyway, need to drop him completly no matter what the consequences, with any luck he’ll kill himself. Nah, his supporters are mostly griever wannabes, most of the furries doesn’t even like his presense.
I remember Maldy as guy who has claimed to crash the main grid multiple times, person who has scripted several interesting scripts alone or with his friends, like a script that could be hidden in hacked sexgen bed and if person clicks the blue agree button on the top, thinking it’s the animate message, it will drain his L$ balance, or multiple plans of griefer tools or scripts that are against tos or are using the pig holes in them (Like uuid ‘thief’ script). A script kiddie who likes to think he’s god (He has stated this multiple times).
There’s lots of dirt to toss about this guy, but I’m not really feeling like it, so I’ll skip them.
