Once More

Sitting at the counter tapping
Fingers, just this side of napping;
Pondering at trip back in to
Secondlife once more.
Is she sitting somewhere waiting?
As we speak she’s contemplating
The blue button, taking her to
Secondlife once more.
Metaversal mem’ries clinging
To the real human being;
Would it be safe for them back in
Secondlife once more?
“Firstlife first”, the gypsy’s saying,
“Every trip, your life is draining;
But there can not be staying in
Secondlife once more”.
Build your castle in the heavens
Keep your feet in solid havens
Test your grasp on what is real in
Secondlife once more.

I loved it. The cadence reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe’s the Raven. Well done. More please.

That’s probably because it’s a blatant ripoff. The first two lines use the same rhyme, and “once more” is clearly a ripoff of “nevermore”.

Only while Poe engaged the senses with his clever writing, this poem reeks of a pathetic wanna-be role-playing poet who’s a tad too engaged in Second Life and needs to see some sunlight.
