Philip shown venting at Cory over open source initiative

by Urizenus Sklar

In this shocking video, smuggled to the Herald via secret interweb connections, we see the current drama inside Linden Lab. Stuggling with the burdens of copybot, bank fraud, griefing, grey goo, penisings, yiffing, ageplay, and Cory’s betrayal, Philip dresses down his remaining Linden Lab brain trust, and it isn’t pretty.

hat tip to Crystal Studio for smuggling us the secret tape.

    Wow.

This video has only been circulating in the slogosphere for a week.

Awesome job of keeping on top of new trends, Herald. Can you post next week about Cory being fired? I think by now you should have heard about that.

Meh, I don’t care how old the video is. I laughed my ass off.

My favorite part was when Hitler, I mean Philip said he programmed simulators all the time back in the day, making leaves fall from trees, all realistic like.

Wow, so they dubbed some shitty crap over Der Untergang (i’m just going to assume all of you retards have no clue about that movie)

This isn’t news. nor is it worth mentioning or watching. Movie’s good though.

So does anyone know of a place that has actually been reporting on this subject? It’s an interesting subject that SLH appears unable to delve into to get more than the basic facts.

So far this is just another great opportunity being wasted in true SLH tradition.

Good lord, Urizenus Sklar! You really drops your balls there.

I know I’ve said it before, but this time I truly mean it…
    You’re still an idiot.

The real Hitlers are the reverse engineer thugs.

My favourite part was when the parodist thought he was being uber hilarious by having Hitler say “all the cool innovative creative people leave the room” — and they all do, on cue, which of course they wouldn’t do if they were the cool, innovative creative people they imagine themselves to be…

What makes the video especially transgressive is the fact that Nazi imagery was one of the first things the Lindens banned on the Grid (and rightly so, in my opinion.)

The Herald can start reporting on Central Grid (http://www.centralgrid.com). Anybody can hook their own grid up to Central Grid, or OSGrid in general, like the internet. Now we’ve got an intergrid growing, and LL is becoming AOL. The main sign that SL has become irrelevant is when LL gets bought out by some major mainstream media company for an insanely high price and makes Philip the CEO like Steve Case was…..

    Months old, yawn…
Still a good 10 secs of fun

BTW, the spoken dialogue matches the sub-titles

You guys run out of steam by any chance ?

Nice website there intBlub, not only is your link broken, your site has HTML from 1995 and looks like it was made then too. I’ll be looking forward to your News Udates!

Except when you defraud a San Francisco startup and get away with it.

By the way… all that talks about OpenSim are merely bullshits because it’s no longer reliable place to go other than LL’s grid. Central Grid, OSGrid, and OpenLife Grid can’t even keep their grids up and alive all the time… worst than how LL is keeping their grid up. There are more inventory, account, scripts and database issues, far more than LL’s issue on their own codes. Apart from the open codes, running servers from home isn’t really worth the “FUCKING” trouble. You’d need a work power PC to host a sim, a good steady bandwidth, and a lovely discount from your power company? Ha, don’t count on it. How the hell those open grids are going to attract good load of population without falling down at 200 active online users? Throw some more furry in a cage-wheel to power up the grid?

Trust me; LL isn’t losing their battle over the open sim source non-sense. OpenSim is just full of craps and disbelief of such fantasy shit of “freedom” those who whined about.

    Freedom has its own price.

Wow, you mean there’s an actual chance that you all might split off on to your own grid somewhere out there and leave Second Life as we know it to the rest of us? Hey, I’m liking this open source stuff better every minute!

But Prick I mean Prock, remember that will mean less land sales for you and your land-tard associates. You guys are essentially on LL fanboy welfare until you learn how to do something useful with your time!

Also, I signed up and logged on to Central Grid last night and, yeah, SL is safe from them for a good year or more or until LL releases the server code. It’s still in early alpha as far as it’s functionality. I’m looking forward to seeing the progress, though!

“Wow, you mean there’s an actual chance that you all might split off on to your own grid somewhere out there and leave Second Life as we know it to the rest of us?”

Yes Prok, just go offline and play fantasy imagination friends alone in the dark room of yours.

You’re still an idiot. Where were you for the last 18 months when they had been out already?

  25. Levi Anansi

    Jan 24th, 2008

Uri, that may not have been yours, but it was funny as hades…

Proks back? That’s what I get for reading every 2 months when plastered. Hi Prok!

    Hic.

To the above poster, who ever the hell you think you might be in real life. If Uri is an idiot, you are a fucking complete unabashed moron with delusions of grandeur.

    Just sayin…
