Griefers are better than cybersex addicts

TL;DR version: Yes, that’s right – I was a member of the Patriotic Nigras for over a year. Sure, I was only along for the ride – little more than a spectator and cheerleader for them – never an active nigra as I never did any griefing that broke ToS (hence my 2+ year old account), but I was there.
If you’re surprised by any of this, you shouldn’t be: I’ve been “hiding in plain sight”: I have never actually denied my PN membership, and indeed, have openly admitted it to various Lindens – who told me that being a member of the Patriotic Nigras was fine so long as I didn’t break ToS.
I had to give a hearty guffaw at that one, indeed.
Even though the PN seem to think I’d honestly betray them and turn furfag after all this time (lol, the usual witch hunt), I view them in a favourable light: they are as much a part of the internet and SL as anyone else.
Their ways of acquiring lulz are significantly more blunt than mine, but they sure do know how to put on a good show – only yesterday did I log in to see Ravenglass covered in interracial gay-porn-grey-goo, with one “NekkidUnderMah Trenchcoat” lulzing away – whom I promptly gave my thanks to for providing me with such amusement – even though I knew Prokofy would blame me for it despite the fact that I had no hand in it whatsoever.
They have their place, they have their role to play, and they bring activity to the grid. They’re a talking point, they’re a conversation piece. They’re an enemy image to some, they’re a cool, rebellious revolutionary image to others. They’re terrorists, they’re pranksters, they’re internet superheroes. Whatever your opinion, you can’t deny that they make the world more interesting – you only have to compare the number of comments on PN-related articles here to their counterparts, and it becomes pretty clear what people really want to talk about.
They’re here, and for the foreseeable future, they’re here to stay; but love them or hate them, they contribute to SL just as much as anyone else.
What would history (virtual and real-world) would be like without people and groups like the PN? What would history be like without conflict?
I’ll tell you what it would be like: It’d be stagnant and stale. Boring. ‘Nothing interesting ever happens around here’.
There are huge groups of people in SL who spend their evenings united in virtual struggle against the PN, working diligently to foil their attacks and get their alts banned as fast as they can – banding together to fight against their common, virtual enemy. (As truly hilarious as that is. Ha ha, oh wow.)
There are huge groups people, who, without the PN – without that enemy to rally against, would have nothing to do. No cohesion, no camaraderie, nothing to talk about, and no reason to script bigger and better anti-griefing systems. They’d simply fall apart.

I mean, for me, SL would be thoroughly boring without groups like the PN and JLU logging in each night to act out another episode of my favourite virtual soap-opera, like performers on stage with Sander fucking Cohen – or something equally surreal.

Short version: I am the very model of a modern griefer mega-troll and I’m glad I was part of the PN rather than some boring old cybersex addict.

I pretty much agree with this. Never seen PN in-world, but it’s interesting to read about them in the Herald. I think they are hateful idiots but they’re amusing in a “Honey, look what the cat is doing!” sort of way and I’m not sad they’re a part of SL.

Yes, the SLH has popularized the PN and I am cool with that. The PN are somewhat interesting. Their YouTube videos are strikingly funny. However, their cult-like following and juvenile goals of removing “fur-fags” is laughably stupid.

What alot of people fail to realize is that SLH is owned by Peter Ludlow, whom you know as Urizenus Skar. A RL respected author and professor who has worked at many a presitgious university, has written
books in partnership with journalists such as Mark Wallace,etc,etc.
Whatever you may say, I am personally proud to work with someone like that despite the fact that I have
never actually spoken with him. I hope one day when I finish my own book (on chapter 22 atm) that
I can show it to him and get some good pointers from an accomplished author.

Alyx was indeed a PN member. After you join the forums at patrioticnigras.org you are initially there as a martyr where some of the other guys basically show you the ropes,etc,etc then eventually you are promoted to n/igra status so long as you aren’t discovered to be a totally lame or a spy.
Alyx had achieved n/igra status long before I was even a thought. In fact, I joined PN in july/august of last year. I wasn’t even a member but for about 4 or 5 months…I guess I did a lot in that small time frame.
Alyx was Captain Cha from the board. I actually hadn’t figured out that Alyx and Cha were the same person until a PN buddy on msn told me what happened. Doesn’t surprise me though, Alyx is a funny guy and /b/ to the core.

If they get their own sims and play there, I’ll be happy to join them and play from time to time. But when they come to MY sim and disrupt MY events and crash MY sim that MY money is paying for, then they’ve crossed the line from being pranksters into being thugs. I am not here to amuse the PN whenever the PN feels like they deserve amusement.
Why don’t the PNfags just buy a couple dozen sims and call it Patriotic Neighborhood? Have their own sims where they can deploy the worst of their weapons, having lulz all hours of the day and night with visitors willing to match their best LulTools against theirs? Let people crash their sims and laugh heartily along with the crashers? I’m guessing it’s because they don’t have the money or the oomph to pull together and get any sims of their own. Unlike those Furries and Goreans, who lose in life so bad that so many can put down 5 figures in cash for a videogame.
When you PN manage to buy your own sim to play in, let us know. Lots of us are eager to play at your house for a change. This may require some of you to put in for that promotion at McDonalds in your RL. But imagine the fun you’ll have!

This comment is actually incredibly accurate, except I have an 8800 GTS 512mb With a G92 core. It runs Crysis pretty well, and TF2 is smooth as a baby’s ass.

I would define PN membership as access to the boards above the ‘Martyrs Brigade’ subforums. My role was not entirely passive, and indeed, I did make contributions here and there: Most notably starting the move away from weapon caches towards weapons that could be built quickly as and when needed – the first of which was simply called “Improvised Doomsday”.
