LL – Please Take My Money!!!

Sayden Westland has Second Life billing problems

I HATE SECOND LIFE!!!

Well, actually I LOVE IT, but I need help and cant find anyone to help me. I have submitted support tickets, left notecards at the info center and for numerous Lindens, talked with experienced residents, endlessly searched the info island and help desks and library, scouraged through the video tutorials and called your support lines like 100 times now, and am ready to leave SL, not because I don’t love it, but because no one will HELP ME!!!!!! and in fact I just need SL to take my money so I may upgrade my account to premium, is that to much to ask? My support ticket # is 4051-4888995 but I have not received an response and have given up hope that I ever will!!

And I would love to give SL my money, upgrade my account to premium, and buy land and numerous other items but: to no avail, the SL website will not neccessarily take my Credit Card but after weeks of numerous entries and waiting, calling the support lines, it still says UPDATE PENDING!!!!!!, ugh, I cant see that anymore…. Trust me I have checked the Credit Card, even entered several different ones to be sure,*_*KEEP READING::

YES, I have called my Credit Card company and checked all type of security issues so that Linden Labs or Linden Research can debit on my card, in fact my Credit Card company says they don’t even see an attempt by Linden Labs or Research to debit on the card or any sort of contact at all, I have checked its validity, and have even entered it on SL Exchange and other sites and boughten Linden dollars successfully..Therefor it has worked with other sites, and I have successfully transfered USD from my Credit Card to SL Exchange and turned it into Lindens and uploaded it onto my in-world account… (at least they want my money). Funny, that it works elsewhere, but not on SL’s Website where I can upgrade my account to premium!!!!

DO YOU NOT WANT MY MONEY???
DO YOU NOT WANT THAT I UPGRADE MY ACCOUNT????
NO ONE WILL ANSWER ME!!!!!!

I’m sure Mr. Rosedale would be displeased to know that even today there are residents, at least one (ME), that would love to give him money, but because of technical issues that he is probably not aware of, that transaction cannot take place!! In fact I think I would become a priority, its all about money or?? if not, then I understand why you don’t want mine:)

I am little hopeful that even the systematic placement of this notecard to all people of any type of relevance will even bring a remote response!!!

But who knows, maybe I’ll be surprised one day, you will take my money, I can upgrade my account to premium and we can all live in freedom. Well come to think of it, its your salary I would be paying:)

Contact me at anytime, my email is ronw156@hotmail.com, and in-world my name is Sayden Westland, you may IM me if you like as well.

Even the slight response from anyone of relevance that this problem of mine is being thought about and handled; I would do an in-world flip, spin around and light up that digital doobie that was given to me from one of your support staff. There are a ton of free accounts out there, a lot of premiums as well, and I would love to become a paying resident…

with Kind Regards,

Sayden Westland.

FYI your experience is only going to get worse after they start taking your money, because then they’ll be taking your money and still giving you terrible service.

Good God, you are purely an idiot…. Using Credit Card with that dumb manner, it’s going to take a long while as they do background check to make sure you’re not some fraud idiot. Use paypal next time, retard.

Let me guess, you haven’t even waited a full week for background checks and not considered any other more popular alternatives such as PayPal for speedier transactions?

Good God, your english grammar is just about as good as the horse you were born from Nacon, this poor guy would like to have his billing info online so that he has the support as all premium members do, and if you have even given it any amount of thought, which you havent, and that shows, maybe he is in Europe and cannot use paypal. Calling people names like idiot or retard only goes to show the immature and unresponsible attitude you have towards yourself. Sayden I would love to help you out, I have had similar billing issue problems, they just take time, thats all I can recommend, AND, forget people like Nacon, he is probably some inworld lonely griefer and in rl some fat old 50+ plus child porn collector jacking off at your frustration, Nacon, you are truely the idiot here.
Take care Sayden, see you inworld:)

If you can buy third party lindens such as from SL Exchange, then there is a workaround to go premium. Just buy a few thousand lindens from the SL Exchange, then go to secondoife.com and sell them on the Lindex. It will credit your acccount with the USD value, which you can then use to pay for a Premium membership.

Have you tried re-entering your credit card info on the site using the update your billing info? This has happen to me numerous times, after a 20 min if it still says Pending I re-enter the info an it takes. Also if you are basic you can only submit certain tickets. You have to use the “Special Questions – Basic Account or Guest Login” or they will ignore your ticket and you will never get an answer. This was discussed in a previous blog post.

First of all I would like to thank all of those that have positively commented and are trying to help, I will try to answer some of your questions here:

@Nexxi: this has been over a month now, I have waited patiently, I would be suprised if background checks would take longer than that. Thankyou for your reply though:).

@Nikola: I know that trick, the catch is I would not have my billing info online, as stated in the profile, and would not recieve some of the same luxuries as a normal premium member. More or less be answered by some Lindens when they see that my billing info is not fullfilled. I also would like to resolve all payment issues in one place and with one exchange rate. but, Thankyou for your reply:), I might have to take that route.

@Nacon: ahem, Nacon1 is right., but as well, thankyou for your time you invested in griefing me:)

@Lea: I have re-entered it many times and this is an over a month ongoing issue. And after calling the support lines like 100 times now, my ticket should be landing on just about every Xcite desk that the Lindens have in San Fransisco, hopefully. Thankyou for your reply:)

last but not least @derp derp: I hope your wrong, but if you are not, at least I can buy (or take) my 512sqm on the mainland and get something back for the bad service.

Most of All thankyou Pixeleen and SL Herald for taking my issue seriously and posting my problem, its the ones like you that will make a positive difference in the long run. I really appreciate your time and consideration.

Sayden, you and 5800 people, including me, who obviously pays Lindens a lot of tier, and who has a perfectly good debit card which works perfectly fine to bill when needed on some accounts, but on just this one alt account, it refuses to bill normally, despite numerous calls and tickets. It is just so odd. Having many adventures calling that call center in Ireland, I just am left perplexed (I think they’ve eliminated that place now, but I wonder if they’ve fixed these 5800 accounts they admitted losing to this problem).

One highly weird thing I stumbled on totally by accident is that on a PayPal debit card I had, my name had to be typed into the Linden template not as it actually appeared on my card, but slightly different. Who knows why. That finally worked to solve one problem once, but not the basic problem. So, I don’t care. If you don’t want to take money, fine. I will sell Lindens, you can take the dollars off the sold Lindens.

    @Nikola

Wouldn’t this scheme trigger the possibility of hitting the dreaded Risk API?

Try paypal, and try calling them.

I encountered the same problem when switching from one credit card to another. Despite lengthy discussions with LL billing support and the CC provider the problem was never resolved. Even created a JIRA entry which of course was closed without comment months later.

It appears that Second Life billing works about as well as everything else connected with Linden Lab.

The only real solution is to stop supporting such an unprofessional company.

Actually, the Risk API would not apply to the SL Exchange for the very simple reason that they acquire their lindens legitimately. As quoted from the API,

If Linden Lab, in its sole discretion, determines that a Second Life user has purchased Linden Dollars for real currency through any means other than LindeX, AND that the seller of such Linden Dollars acquired such Linden Dollars through fraudulent means, or any other means in violation of the Terms of Service, then Linden Lab will consider the buying user a complicit party in the fraud or violation.

The policy is not to punish third-party linden sales, but to deal with potential counterfeiting. The SL Exchange is one of a few sites that has proven itself solid and legitimate, so there would be low risk involved.

Of course, Sayden does have a point that this work around would cause the loss of a couple of benefits, primarily having payment info on file, but this is sadly the standard with workarounds. It’s a last resort measure that would be better than nothing, but worse than the desired outcome.

    Take My Advice,

If ur having issues getting “officially” linkedin to 2nd Life via money channels then it’s a sign from God! Go spend ur real money on RL. 2nd Strife is a waste, you’ll meet all kinds of freaks and service is poorly executed not to mention the plethora of technical issues they can’t seem to overcome.

Actually spend ur money on seeking some serious life counsel, head shrink or checking urself into the nearest sanitarium.
    You need it!

Why are you bothering to even give LL your money

You’ll soon find that a premium membership is no different than basic other than you can buy land. You’ll get treated the same and what’s worse is someone with a basic account can get you permabanned. save your money, go buy real games.

I have the same problem…But mine has only been pending for a week……BUT..It’s a prepaid debit card (visa)..I have been using these cards for over a year on SL with no problem…SO..When I first updated my payment info and it was accepted and verified and passed the first hurdle I just assumed everything was fine and tossed the card…So now I am really screwed cuz I am not able to re-enter the card info to try again >>>>DOH

AND BTW.. I also am basic account *who spends a ton of Lindens ) and there is a category of the special basic account suport ticket subjects that fits this…so submit a ticket and maybe in a year or two you will get a response

Yeah those prepaid cards suck. Only way I’ve gotten them to work was to do it over the pone. Computers just hate them for some reason.

I had a terrible time trying to us an AMEX card when I first joined. Apparently, there’s so much cc fraud in SL that AMEX flags every single transaction as possible fraud, and once this happens and a charge from LL fails, LL’s web site will simply stop responding to further attempts. This forces you to call LL to have their block removed, then call AMEX so they can put a temporary (like 2 days max) approval for LL on the card. After those 2 days, if you make another charge without calling them back, you’ll wind up in unbillable-hell again and have to repeat the process. And AMEX told me they have no capability in their system to mark LL as safe/ok, so there’s no way around this Mother-May-I dance every time. Screw that.

It all went away when I switched to Paypal, which can itself charge the AMEX card just fine :D
