Macsnob Halasy — Post 6 Guy

Don’t get me wrong, I love the gritty Neko guys with their heavy tats, their cigarettes casually hanging from the corner of their mouths and the high-prim belts stuffed with anything the urban guy needs or doesn’t need but it is a nice change to see a male avi in a suit. Especially if it is a well-made suit and the avi seems actually comfortable wearing it and not just doing it to please the ladies on a first date in one of SL’s romantic ballrooms. Macsnob Halasy is one of those guys looking as good and confident in a suit as in swim trunks and it was a pleasure working with him. The pics were taken in The Sphinx Ballrom, SLurgis and on one of the countless Bora Bora beaches. – Bunny Brickworks]

Macsnob Halasy. I know it’s a weird name. I didn’t know at the time I set up the account that it would also be my avi’s name. Yes I do use a Mac and no I’m not really a snob. And it’s Mac snob not Macs nob. Everyone asks. I’ll just make it easy and ask that you call me Mac.

Let’s see. I came to SL because I saw an online friend of mine from www.icompositions.com on a TV show and she was telling what she was doing here with music. Thanks Slimmie for getting me here. When I got here I listened to some great live music and milled around trying to figure out what I could do here because I can’t sing. I camped a bit for money and found it’s so much easier to just buy it.

I saw that a lot of noobies like myself but many of them put little effort into making their avis look unique. So many women with brown hair to the middle of the back and purple shirt or with the red hair and little hat with the light blue shoulder-less top. Guys in white T-shirts and jeans. Did these people spend anytime on Help Island? I was different from the start. Long noobie hair and a handlebar mustache. Many skinned avis would comment on how I looked and that I didn’t look like all the rest of the noobies. But I did want to look more like them. Nice skin and hair.

I will always remember Dee. A sweet gal that I met at an info center and she gave me my first skin and shape. Not a big change but an improvement from the basic avi. It was her kindness that stuck with me to this day about helping others getting started. Thank you Dee. Once I started talking to people they really seemed to like me. I quickly found out that personality is way more important in SL than a great avi but the avi does help get things started. So I bought some Lindens and set out to find a great skin and hair.

I would find one and then say no I want to look again. I thought I would buy one right away but really took about two weeks of looking to find something that I liked and that didn’t cost L$3000. After looking for what seemed a lifetime I found the skin I wanted and at only L$1300 and the hair was under L$200 I think and came in 25 or so colors, but I only use the blonde. Wow, what a difference it made. I use to walk Laguna Bay for quite a while before someone would contact me and now I can’t get from the landing point to a chair without getting IMed. And once I learned to tweak my shape it was even better. Took me two months to get it the way I wanted but it paid off big. Seems everyone, well at least the women liked the way I looked and I had no problem striking up conversations at my leisure.

After many friends and many adventures I met Jackie. A most unique avi. Short in height, short red hair, (a blonde now) and very unique skin. I have only ever seen it on one other avi. Well I had to talk to her. What a turning point in my SL. She is smart, witty and deeply involved in hosting live music and owns Boogie Beach and the shops there.

She told me about her thoughts of SL and said it goes in 5 phases. Noobie, Sex, Exploring, Creating/Building, Making Real Money. With her help and motivation she moved me into Creating/Building. I have found that my 18 years of Photoshop talent can be used here and started making clothes. Then she pushed me into opening a shop and started selling them. I can’t thank Jackie enough. She saw something in me that I didn’t and brought it out. What a special gift. Thank you Jackie.

I own MAC Designs and MACkinis. I design men’s and women’s beachwear and my main shop is on the boardwalk at Boogie Beach on Artisan Isle. I was even asked recently by a Real World Surf Shop in Spain and Italy for samples of my surf shorts for them to sell. Too bad they only exist in SL.
I am a huge fan of design and detail. It doesn’t have to be as close to reality as possible just has to have nice details and you get my vote. Most times the smallest detail makes the biggest difference. I like things that are unique or special, the little things that set them apart from the norm. I enjoy meeting unique avis as they tend to be creative people.

I like well-designed suits for formal dancing, shoes and boots that have a left and a right, and sharp designed custom choppers for a day of riding. So now I have several shops and a positive cash flow. I have spending money for all the toys and clothes I’ll ever need. I’m meeting great people and having the time of my life. I have partnered with a wonderful person Roxie and she keeps me busy with new adventures all the time, like being a Merman or a baby spider monkey. Setting up a home in a hidden cave or a skybox castle or in a tree house. She has also got me into building. I have built a shop for my MACkinis and have also built some covered bridges and a Mill with a Water Wheel that turns from a waterfall.

Second Life is a great creative outlet. From making clothes to building items. Performing music or crating scripts for items. There is unlimited creative room here for everyone to explore. It’s also a great dynamic for social interaction. I have met great people from all around the world. I hope you get all that you want out of SL as I do.

“Your penis is discoloured. Might wanna get that checked out.”

Wow… a woman on teh internets! Call CNN!

Protip: A penis usually is slightly discoloured compared to the rest of the body’s skin. That’s normal. And yes, I’m sure, my own has that, and all of the ones I had my lips around, have that as well.

Anyway, nice machine you got there between your legs Macsnob.
The bike is cool too ;)

Artisan Isle in SL is not nice, because one of the chiefs there, Shagswell Snoodle, is a bad griefer and warrior. Dont go there.
