Financial Domme Stimulus Package for Second Life Economy?

Financial Domming has recently popped up in Second Life, and is exactly what it sounds like — there are submissives who fork over their Lindens to the Domme willingly.
This may be the greatest scheme in Second Life – even better than the ponzi schemes virtual banks – because all the rules are laid out for you. There is no going into this blindly, only stupidly – and people are STILL forking over thousands of Lindens for a Financial Domme's services.
One Financial Domme's Classified ad says it all:
"Yes, you've read right. I am looking for bored and lonely housewifes,Social Rejects, Welfare Chics. People with LOTS of time on their hands, to work at GODDESS INVESTMENT! We need good looking AV's, good emoting skills, to work as Dancers, Escorts, Mistress in a FEMDOM club! Just moved to a new location and need a packed Stall of skilled Sub/Domme Personel. Shemales, Losers, Females,Tgirls, Manly Women Come by and pick up an application by the entrance."
What the ad doesn't say is that they're looking for horribly lonely, naive people, inexperienced people, to play with as well.
Now don't get me wrong. I don't think a Financial Domme is doinganything wrong whatsoever. I think whatever the submissives get, theydeserve. Punishment for their stupidity, if you will. The Dommes call thesubs “paying pigs”, and they scope out potential clients by viewingtheir profile and groups.
An example of a sub/Domme conversation:
[18:27] Domme: sooo
[18:27] Domme: (Name Withheld) you said you have a gift
[18:27] Sub: yes Miss, lindens for you Miss
And that's IT.
The Domme doesn't have to do a damned thing except enforce that the sub is, indeed, a submissive. The sub willingly forks over the Lindens without really being asked. I was highly amused to witness this interaction being played out in front of me.
Is this the next hot moneymaker in Second Life?
Or is it just "bishes" taking advantage of a situation?

See, Tenshi, what you don’t understand is there is way more to it then what you’ve just typed there. You ought to do some research on Financial Domination, and you would be suprised what else there is to it.

There is a difference between being submissive, and being absolutely stupid. Those that fork over lindens for a few minutes of attention are stupid. Submission is a “willing” condition…as long as the submissive has the ability to have an escape route, and he or she stays regardless, than it’s truly submission. Take that away, though, through financial, or emotional means, and the submissive is no longer a submissive; but, a slave…and a stupid one at that.
I can’t fathom why any Dom/me would want that sort of slave…unless, it’s a true disregard for his/her charge and a complete self-absorption of his or herself.
I can give a whole treatise on the meaning of Domination/Submission…but, suffice it to say that all your doing is, in truth, playing games, period.

Can’t say I’m surprised by this, the same thing happens IRL when men will give over their bank accounts, credit cards, you name it to a financial dominatrix. There’s a story I heard about a financial domme using the money to get her way through law school.
It’s not dumb, it’s just an obscure fetish. People enjoy having their entire finances out of their control and in the hands of an attractive person, allowing them to buy anything they want with their money in order to please them.
I’d pick it over fucking someone in an animal suit any day.

Interesting article. Although, as far as kinks go, I will have to side with Eva on this one. Unless the sub (or pig) in question has unlimited resources, financial domination can go that very sticky route of “Oh no, I can’t afford to buy lindens at the moment, so what do I choose? Having my lights on, or paying my pixel “domme”?”
It’s a strange situation all around.

Not surprising at all, considering the ratio of subs to tops in SL is about 1,000 to 1 of course some Dom figured out they mine as well charge for being pestered all the time.

First let me start with saying I’m glad this article gave people something to really discuss and voice their opinion about, so here are my 2 cents:
RE:

Noor is not taking advantage of the Special Olympics here. These men are adults who are sane enough to make payments on their valid credit cards, and can make the decision to become a “pig” before submitting to a fin domme, and unless there is a shrink on staff at GODDESS then they are going to have to assume he is of sound mind. Maybe the men are stupid, maybe they are technically slaves, but how is the financial humiliation any different from being humiliated in other ways for sexual pleasure? I’ll tell you how…because money is involved directly instead of indirectly through presents/toys/etc. Noor does not keep her intentions a secret with these ‘pigs’ as you can read in her interview in SLag, she is very open with what her job entails as a financial domme, and though she may scout the ‘pigs’, these men come willingly to her and know what they are getting into and submit themselves under her will. And maybe they are stupid for giving their lindens to a financial domme, but I really don’t know many men who are not stupid. lol. And if they are getting off on this whole situation, then they are in fact, getting something in return for their money. And I do believe his escape route is, NOT pressing the “pay” button on Noor’s profile.
Furthermore, I know this is not exaaactly the same thing, but how would you describe people who shop for ‘virtual’ clothing items and spend “real” money on things that are not tangible and who most will only wear once? As far as a “pig” using his finances poorly, that is ultimately his business. I know many people who have shopping addictions and pay hundreds per week of their hard earned RL cash. At least a “sub” of a Fin Dom is getting special catered treatment for what he paid for, even if we do not personally agree with the “product” or treatment that he just purchased.
I think this is just a sample of the whole controversy within many Fetish Addictions.

As I said in the article, these men know exactly what they’re getting into. They’re must not be that bright, but yeah.
Maybe it’s therapy thing. This article was nothing against Noor personally, just a roundabout view of the profession, if you will.
I’m hoping Noor will let me apprentice with her for an afternoon to check out how this whole thing works and make a better, more in-depth article. I have yet to officially inquire.

I don’t go to Walmart and point the finger at the products I don’t like…I simply don’t buy them. Yes, it’s an edge fetish, it’s unusual and it’s hardcore. Next!
Noor’s just selling a product that they want that isn’t illegal. There’s fashion in SL that is almost as bad AND overpriced

Anyone who gives anything, be it money or emotions, to a dominant is stupid to the point of brain death. They deserve almost as little respect as those who dominate them. Pay Pig or Domme Hog… all the same.

This is an old thread… but for others who may stumble on to it…
For the submissive, the essence of the “turn on” in any form of D/s, is in in some sense giving in to the “power” of the Dominant. Since money is power, giving up real money (and Lindens translate into real $$) to a Domme, with “no strings attached”, is therefore a very real form of submission — there can be no doubt in the subs mind that he is being “used”, because he is, and this reinforces the perception of the Domme as “goddess”, as completely above the sub. She is everything, he is nothing. For some, this extreme extreme assymetry of power, along with genuine self-scacrifice for the betterment/pleasure of the goddess-figure, is an intense turn-on.
Tenchi, you say that these subs are “forking over thousands of Lindens for a Financial Domme’s services.” But this completely misses the point. The subs are *not* paying for services. Rather, the subs are *serving* the Domme, in part, or perhaps entirely, by giving the Domme money.
Contrast this with professional Dommes, who *are* paid for their services — the sub as a paying customer has a right to expect a “session” in return. Some subs cannot escape the reality that in the professional/client relationship, the client holds at least equal power and that the Domme is serving their needs, which ruins any sense of the Domme being superior, a goddess. Such subs need to genuinely serve their Domme, and such service begins with payment, or “tribute”, and the Domme is in no way obligated. She may use the sub in other ways if she wishes, or completely ignore him, but she has already used him, and he has served her, by means of the tribute. The submissive will become aroused, even to the point of orgasm (if permitted) simply by giving in to the Domme’s demands for money, gifts, or whatever.
“Stupid” is the wrong word. You note yourself that the subs go into this eyes-wide-open. “Weak” may be the correct term.
There is a worthwhile discussion to be had whether financial domination constitutes exploitation in somewhat the same way as a casino might exploit a gambling addict, or a dealer exploits a drug addict.
But on the other hand, there are many ways in which people are manipulated by their own sexual desires even though they know that they are being manipulated (i.e. no deception involved) and this is just one of those ways.

You mean all this time I could have been paid for being abusive to people instead of doing it for free?
Damn I missed my calling XD
Send all financial sacrifices to me in-world and I guarantee to treat you like the worthless worm you are by ignoring you, pathetic wretch! Your goddess has spoken!
