Dance on the skeptical dance floor — chill in the dystopia analysis area
by Pixeleen Mistral
Friday, May 22 at 7:00 pm EDT (4:00 pm PDT), the Alphaville Herald will celebrate the completion of our new Metaplace office space. Join us for the party as we re-invent new media journalism in the metaverse at http://www.metaplace.com/AlphavilleHerald/play.
The re-design was commissioned earlier this month from Dalian Hansen – a noted designer who perfectly balanced the competing needs of the Herald staff – critical analysis, dance floor, dj booth, state of the art Alpha60 computer/printing press, and news kiosk.

Dalian's white-on-white world makes a bold visual statement – and challenges visitors to ponder the significance and relevance of journalism in the Internet age. By removing most obvious boundaries around the space, we ask ourselves "where does the newsroom begin – and end? why do the words act as walls?"
The design breaks new visual ground for the Metaplace giving the Herald offices exactly the sort of ironic mid-century modern futuristic feel that is so crucial to covering the development of the metaverse – in style. I can't thank Dalian enough – working with him was a total joy. I'm planing to add a Metaplace version of Blofield's white persian cat to complete the space after the party is over – for once the cat fur will not show.

Please stop by, meet and greet Dalian and join the Herald staff hard at work – on the dance floor. Bring the URLs for your favorite MP3 streams to the DJ booth and help us recreate Ybor City in the newsroom.

You guys finally slipped up. That music video is proof of the Leninist conspiracy that I’ve been trying to warn everyone about. Those stars are clearly soviet symbols and the herald is obviously a front for recruiting soviet spies. They want to quietly subvert our democracy by spreading their communist ideals to unwitting Americans.
